The decision of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to amend and change free timings for parking fees in public parking in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the toll system fees to become on Sunday instead of Friday, will be put into force as Friday (July 15, 2022).

The department affirmed that the decision comes in line with the requirements of the transport sector and in a way which enhances the flow of traffic during peak times during weekdays, facilitates the movement of people and raises the levels of security and safety on the emirate’s roads.

The department previously announced the amendment of the provisions of the executive regulations of Law No 18 for 2009 regulating vehicle parking in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and the executive regulations of Law No 17 for 2017 regarding traffic tariffs in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

This came in line with Resolution No 72 for 2022 issued by the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi regarding amending the provisions of Law No18 for 2009 regulating vehicle parking in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and Law No17 for 2017 regarding traffic tariffs in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

In implementation of the new decision, the Integrated Transport Centre in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, affiliated with the Department of Municipalities and Transport, announced the amendment of the date for considering the parking fees in public parking and the fees for the “Darb” system for traffic tariffs in the emirate to become from Monday to Saturday, but free on Sundays and public holidays, starting as of today, Friday, July 15, 2022.
