Family of 8 goes missing in Oman sea, 3 rescued

Gulf Today Report

In a tragic incident, a family of 8 people fell into the sea after they crossed the fence of Al Mughsayl Beach in Dhofar Governorate, Oman.

Three of them were rescued and provided with the necessary first aid by the paramedics before transferring them to the hospital for further medical treatment, while the other five are still missing.

A massive search operation has been underway.

On July 8, three children, aged between six to ten years, died in two separate areas in Al Rustaq in Oman as result of the violent surface run-offs and flow of water caused by heavy rain that fell on various parts of the Sultanate.

The death toll has risen to four since Wednesday, while the unstable weather condition is continuing affecting the region. The authorities advised people to stay away from the areas witnessing surface run-offs and keep themselves in safe places.
