DP World Padel Championship organizing committee reviews arrangements and announces the sale of fans’ tickets

The Organizing Committee of the DP World Paddle Tennis Championship 2022 held a meeting to review the latest preparations and arrangements for the International Padel Federation’s flagship biennial tournament, which will be hosted by Dubai for the first time and held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council.

Organised by UAE Padel Association (UAEPA) in collaboration with Dubai Sports Council and Dubai Department of Economy & Tourism (DET), the DP World Padel Championship will take place at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium.

The meeting was chaired by Sheikh Saeed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the tournament, in the presence of members Ismail Al Hashimi, Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Khalifa Khoury, Nasser Al Rahma, Ahmed Alkhajah, Hassan Al Mazrouei, Director of the Tournament, Issa Al Marzouqi, Deputy Director of the Tournament, Abdul Karim Al Aref and Awatif Al Suwaidi.

The organizing committee visited the venue of the tournament and received an update on the most recent technical, logistical, marketing, media, and security arrangements and activities taking place in the fan area throughout the competition.

The Organising Committee also announced the launch of ticket sales to the general public and game enthusiasts worldwide.

The Dubai World Padel Championship will boast separate men’s and women’s categories, with 16 national teams set to compete in each competition. This will be the first time in the championship’s history that the prize pool has reached €500,000.

The UAE men’s national team will make its IPF World Padel Championship debut on home turf; the eight-man squad will represent the Arabian Gulf against a glittering roster of the game’s leading countries, including Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Egypt, France, Italy, Mexico, Paraguay, Spain, Uruguay, and the US.

Hassan Al Mazrouei, Director of the Tournament, revealed that the main court at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium Championship, which can accommodate 5,000 fans, has been ready to receive fans.

“Padel tennis fans from across the UAE and abroad are welcome to attend the matches, and a variety of seating options are available for them at affordable prices.

“I hope that everyone will book their tickets as soon as possible and start planning to attend the tournament and enjoy watching the strongest international teams and the passionate atmosphere that will dominate all matches,” added Hassan.

“We were keen to open the doors for ticket sales a week ago, giving padel fans the opportunity to plan early to attend this major global event, which is being held in Dubai for the first time,” the Tournament Director said.

The organizing committee has also planned a variety of events for fans and will distribute awards to create an atmosphere of joy and enjoyment during the days of the competition.
