Hockey tournament in Sharjah to mark Pakistan’s Independence Day

To mark Pakistan’s Independence Day, the Pakistan Social Centre Sharjah and Khalifa Hockey Club will organise a hockey tournament on Sunday.

The match will be played between Pakistan Invitation and Hassan Al Ali Advocates and Legal Consultancy team at the Sharjah Sports Council ground at National Park.

“We are happy to welcome anyone who wants to visit and support these events,” said Khalid Hussain Chaudhry, President of Pakistan Social Center Sharjah.

“We are pleased and happy to see such events occurring, especially following the epidemic break “

Hassan Afzal Khan, Consul-General at the Pakistan Consulate in Dubai, is expected to be the Chief Guest on the occasion.

“We are also thankful to the UAE Hockey Federation for giving us permission to promote hockey and organize this event at their ground.”

Blial Haider Kazmi, president of the organising committee, said: ” I wish to see the UAE have a team from each emirate and establish an international team that will represent the country in international competitions.

“Despite the fact that hockey isn’t very popular in the UAE, my warmest congratulations go out to Hockey Federation President Abdullah Sultan Al Dah, General Secretary Khalid Murad, and his technical team for supporting this event and making efforts to develop the sport here.

Raza Abidi, organiser of the event, thanked everyone and expressed his gratitude for giving him the chance to organise such events.
