Union Coop has been awarded the Golden Spoon Award for Customer Experience of the Year at the Golden Spoon Awards 2026, recognizing its efforts to enhance the grocery shopping experience through integrated physical and digital services.
Mr. Shuaib Alhammadi, Director – Community Relations at Union Coop, represented the cooperative at the awards ceremony and received the honour on its behalf.

Union Coop CEO Mohamed Al Hashemi also participated in the Food Business Forum 2026 as an honorary speaker in the “Blueprint Behind the Basket” session, which brought together leading retail leaders to discuss resilience, innovation, operational excellence and customer trust in the evolving food retail sector.
