Sheikh Dr. Nimr Fahad Al Malik Al Sabah, Undersecretary, Ministry of Oil, the 2nd Kuwait Digital Transformation Oil & Gas Conference supported by the Kuwait Oil Company, Equate Petrochemical and Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC) concluded successfully on 8–9 September 2025 at the Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa. The two-day gathering brought together more than 530+ senior executives, 40 expert speakers, and 26 sponsors and partners from across the region, reinforcing Kuwait’s position as a hub for digital innovation in the energy sector.
The event opened with keynote remarks from H.E. Sheikh Dr. Nimr Fahad Al Malik Al Sabah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil, who welcomed participants and thanked H.E. the Minister of Oil for his patronage. In his address, he affirmed Kuwait’s determination to accelerate the pace of digital transformation, stating: “The Ministry of Oil has made digital transformation a strategic focus of its institutional plans, not only as a tool for improving performance and streamlining procedures, but also as a key entry point for enhancing transparency, increasing the efficiency of government services, and developing the decision-making system.” He further highlighted that investment in national talent through training in artificial intelligence, digital analytics, and cybersecurity is central to preparing the workforce to lead Kuwait’s energy future in line with Vision 2035.
This was followed by keynote remarks from H.E. Eng. Khaled Al-Deyain, Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Affairs at the Ministry of Oil, who highlighted the Ministry’s progress in embedding digital solutions to strengthen efficiency, risk management, and process safety in line with global standards. He noted that modernization of infrastructure and strong collaboration across government and the oil sector are central to advancing Kuwait’s energy transformation, adding: “Since the launch of the Ministry of Oil’s digital transformation plan, the Ministry has succeeded in achieving qualitative leaps in smart digital transactions, accelerating the pace of achievement, reducing bureaucratic cycles, and improving performance efficiency. Behind these achievements lies an important truth: our human cadres are the true fuel driving Kuwait’s progress toward Vision 2035.”
The conference agenda featured perspectives from leading voices in both national and international oil and gas companies. Mohammad Al-Abdeljalil, Deputy CEO (Planning & Innovation) at Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), underlined the momentum within Kuwait’s upstream operations, stating:
“We stand today at a key moment in the history of oil and gas, where the traditional ways of working are being transformed by digital technology. To remain competitive and sustainable in a fast-changing world, we must evolve quickly and intelligently.”
His remarks were complemented by international expertise from Bruno Michel, Vice President Geosciences & Reservoir at TotalEnergies, who emphasized the importance of applying advanced technologies to global challenges:
“Artificial intelligence, automation, and high-performance computing are accelerating our ability to move from data acquisition to decision-making, reducing costs, improving efficiency, and opening new opportunities for discovery.”
On the second day, downstream innovation and execution were emphasized by Majed Alhuwailah, Chairman of the Digital Transformation Project Management Office at Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC), who noted:
“For KIPIC, digital transformation is about accountability and ownership, integrating every application, enhancing cybersecurity, and applying digital twins to improve reliability, safety, and cost efficiency.”
The conference program also included in-depth sessions on cyber resilience, intelligent drilling systems, AI-enabled HSE performance monitoring, and digital solutions for national energy operations, with case studies presented by technology leaders and energy innovators.

Following this successful edition, the Kuwait Digital Transformation Oil & Gas Conference will return in 2026, continuing as the country’s official platform for driving digital innovation in the energy industry and advancing Kuwait’s energy transformation under Vision 2035.
