3 underrated shows on Netflix you need to watch in November 2024

With under two months left in 2024, Netflix is finally releasing some of its best shows over the next few weeks. Arcane, a fantasy show set in the League of Legends universe, returns for its second and final season this month. Cobra Kai, one of Netflix’s most popular TV shows, is back with season 6, part 2, with the Miyagi-do students gearing up for the Sekai Taikai.

While Arcane and Cobra Kai will dominate the headlines, Netflix offers plenty more television shows in comedy, drama, action, thriller, and more. Wasting precious time finding a TV show is arguably the most frustrating part of streaming. To help get you started on your streaming journey, here are three underrated shows to watch on Netflix this month. Our picks include a USA Network procedural, a compelling thriller, and a wrestling drama.

We also have guides to the best movies on Netflix, the best movies on Hulu, the best movies on Amazon Prime Video, the best movies on Max, and the best movies on Disney+.

White Collar (2009-2014)

Who could have predicted the Suits phenomenon of 2023? Thanks to Netflix, Suits became one of the most popular TV shows, leading to NBC developing a spinoff series coming in 2025. If you enjoyed Suits, try watching White Collar, another charming USA Network procedural with an attractive cast and easy-to-digest episodes.

Matt Bomer stars as Neal Caffrey, a thief and con artist sentenced to four years in prison after being caught by FBI Special Agent Peter Burke (Tim DeKay). After escaping prison, Neal is caught again and offered a deal: become Burke’s FBI informant and help him catch white-collar criminals. In exchange, Neal will be released early from prison. Neal agrees, and so begins the odd-couple partnership between the con man and the FBI agent.

Escape at Dannemora (2018)

Escape at Dannemora is not underrated when it comes to critical reception. The seven-episode series was nominated for double-digit Emmys. However, Escape at Dannemora is underrated when discussing viewership. The series originated on Showtime, and while it gained a small following, it’s nothing in comparison to the audience Netflix provides.

Richard Matt (Benicio del Toro) and David Sweat (The Batman‘s Paul Dano) are convicted murderers serving their sentences at the Clinton Correctional Facility in upstate New York. Matt enlists Sweat to help with a prison break. Matt has an ace in the hole: Joyce “Tilly” Mitchell (Patricia Arquette), a security guard who becomes romantically involved with the two convicts. Escape at Dannemora is based on a true story, though the details are so unfathomable that it must be seen to be believed.

Heels (2021-2023)

Heels first and foremost caters to wrestling fans. The name stems from the wrestling term “heel,” which means the bad guy in a match. However, the series smartly incorporates family dysfunction, workplace dynamics, and athletic feats to make it a show that appeals to anyone looking for gritty drama.

Stephen Amell headlines Heels as Jack Spade, the biggest heel in the Duffy Wrestling League (DWL). Jack is also the lead promoter, inheriting the business from his late father. Alexander Ludwig plays Ace Spade, the DWL’s top “face,” or good guy. Ace is also Jack’s younger brother. The two brothers set out to become wrestling stars and elevate their small-town promotion to new heights. Heels perfectly captures the ins and outs of the wrestling business while still providing a compelling drama for those with no prior interest in the sport.
