Dubai, UAE: The countdown is on for the highly anticipated 20th edition of the BITS Sports Festival (BSF), a major Inter-University Sports extravaganza organized by BITS Pilani Dubai Campus (BPDC). Set to kick off on December 5, this 5-day sports spectacle aligns with the UAE’s National Day celebrations.
This year, BSF expands its reach by including schools from Oman, fostering a sports fiesta across major Middle East and North Africa (MENA) nations. The organizers anticipate a remarkable turnout of over 4500 attendees, featuring 11 sports during the five-day extravaganza. Promising an unparalleled celebration of sports and diversity, engaging over 35 universities and schools nationwide and from Oman, BSF is poised to witness the force unleashed, creating history once again in the vibrant landscape of UAE sports.
Commenting on this year’s BSF, Dr. Srinivasan Madapusi, the Director of BITS Pilani Dubai Campus, said, “As we mark two decades of the BITS Sports Festival, it is not just about celebrating sports; it is about the enduring spirit of coming together and competing that defines this event. Expressing profound honor and pride, Dr. M. Rafiuddin, the Convener of BITS Pilani Sports Festival, remarked, “In my capacity as the Convener of BITS Pilani Sports Festival, I am honored by the global recognition it has garnered, drawing distinguished athletes like Diego Maradona, Saina Nehwal, Mary Kom, and DJ Bravo. BSF unveils a new logo for its 20th edition, crafted by students from BITS Pilani Dubai Campus. This symbolizes a commitment to innovation, capturing two decades of sports excellence and a collaborative spirit.
The Inter-School BSF’23 includes esteemed institutions like Gulf Asian English School, Dubai Scholars Private School, and Delhi Private School, Sharjah. The Inter-University BSF’23 involves top-tier institutions such as Manipal University, Amity University and Middlesex University, adding diversity and intense competition to the event.
