Kissflow is revolutionizing the way businesses approach process automation with its low-code, no-code platform, empowering both citizen developers and IT teams to build enterprise applications with ease. As the demand for business applications continues to outpace IT capacity, Kissflow enables organizations to accelerate digital transformation by allowing business users to create workflows and applications without heavy reliance on technical expertise.
In this conversation, Prasanna Rajendran, Vice President – EMEA at Kissflow, shares insights into how the platform simplifies automation for non-technical users while providing flexibility for IT teams, the key business challenges it helps solve, and Kissflow’s vision for the future of enterprise automation.
1. Tell us about Kissflow in short?
Kissflow is a low-code, no-code platform that empowers process owners, a.k.a. citizen developers and IT developers, to automate middle office processes and applications. These could be anything from claim approval processes to leave application automation.
Our platform is intuitive and easy to use yet powerful enough to support everything from departmental applications to complex enterprise workflows. The best part is that with Kissflow, enterprise applications can be built in weeks. When you consider that currently, the demand for business-related apps is 5X higher than the available IT capacity, this transformation of business users into citizen developers is a game-changer for organisations.
Empowering business teams to create applications for their needs also helps organizations fast-track their digital transformation efforts and stay ahead of the competition.
2. How does Kissflow ensure ease of use for non-technical users while maintaining flexibility for IT teams?
Our platform is the only platform with both low-code and no-code capabilities. For non-technical users such as line of business managers, it provides a no-code environment where process owners can create workflows and applications through an intuitive drag-and-drop interface. At the same time, IT teams get the low-code capabilities they need to customize and scale solutions while maintaining governance.
Moreover, our AI layer further simplifies the process for both teams. This means process owners can solve their own challenges without adding to IT’s backlog, and IT teams can focus on more complex, high-priority projects.
3. What are the most common business problems that customers solve using Kissflow?
Kissflow is not one of the off-the-shelf solutions that solves one specific problem at a time. The majority of our customers use Kissflow to solve their process automation and IT backlog issues. This can be anything from service requests to expense tracking to vendor onboarding to leave approvals. With Kissflow, the possibilities are endless. In fact, one of our customers in UAE—Quest Nutra Pharma used Kissflow to automate all their critical workflows. By digitalising over 30 processes, Quest has not only been able to move towards paperless operations, but also managed to automate large portions of its operations, yielding efficiencies and accuracies, translating to enhanced quality assurance, market compliance, deviation and change control, and more.
4. Does Kissflow have partnerships or collaborations with major tech companies?
Yes. We work with partners across regions. Google Cloud is one of our key cloud partners.
In the Middle East, we work with Presolutions, Kanoo IT, DigiNation, CitytechME, and Flex Smart Systems.
5. What’s your vision for Kissflow over the next decade?
Kissflow’s approach to innovation is based on the philosophy that “Simple things should be simple. Complex things should be made possible.” We will continue to bridge the IT-Business gap, and with Gen AI, we are very sure we will be able to solve more backlog issues in a few minutes in the upcoming years.
