Dubai, UAE, 5 May 2025:
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library concluded its participation in the 34th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) and the 16th Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival. The library organised a series of panel discussions, workshops, poetry evenings, and interactive activities, introducing the public to its key initiatives, facilities, and services. It also launched its annual report, highlighting its most notable cultural and knowledge achievements and initiatives in 2024.

During its participation in ADIBF and Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival, the library attracted a diverse audience of different age groups and cultural backgrounds. Its booths served as interactive platforms that combined unique content with a rich cultural and recreational experience.

On the sidelines of its participation in ADIBF, the library held more than 12 events, including workshops, panel discussions, reading evenings, poetry evenings, and competitions for the public. Through these events, the library shed light on prominent contemporary intellectual and cultural issues, celebrated the Arabic language and local and international literature, and addressed topics related to intellectual property, the digital content industry, and the future of libraries in the digital age.

During its participation, the library highlighted its main facilities, such as the Treasures of the Library Exhibition and the Restoration Centre, as well as its digital services, including digital membership, which allows visitors easy access to its knowledge content. It also reviewed its publications, which included research papers, scholarly dissertations, and translated novels.

Throughout the exhibition, the library booth witnessed attendance and visits from school students, representatives of public and private organisations, as well as authors and publishing houses. Visitors commended the library’s services and initiatives, which reflect its commitment to excellence and innovation in the fields of culture and education.

During the 16th Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival, the library celebrated its young visitors and their families by organising a series of workshops. The workshops began with “What pet should I get”, followed by “A book, too, can be a star”, and “Out of a jar”. The library also held a workshop called “Fox on the job” for children to explore their future careers through activities that combine learning and fun.

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library offers a rich program of cultural and educational events and activities throughout the year, catering to various segments of society—children, adolescents, youth, and adults. The program features workshops, panel discussions, literary and artistic evenings, as well as innovative activities aimed at developing skills, fostering a culture of reading, and stimulating creativity.

Visit the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library’s official website www.mbrl.ae and follow its social media platforms to learn more about the library’s events program, as well as register and participate in them for free.
