October 10, 2025 | Vancouver, Canada: It was a bowler’s day out on the third day of the Canada Super 60 at BC Place in Vancouver, as the bowlers completely dominated the proceedings and kept the fans entertained with some exceptional performances.
The opening match of Day 3 in the Canada Super 60 saw the Vancouver Thunderbirds Women face off against the Toronto Sixers Women, with the Thunderbirds securing a convincing 24-run victory.
Batting first, the Thunderbirds managed to post 75/9 in 10 overs. Though wickets fell at regular intervals, Alisa Lister provided some stability with a steady 19 off 13 balls, while Ritu Singh remained unbeaten on 17 off 14.
For the Toronto Sixers, the bowling attack was impressive. Krima Kapadia, skipper Deandra Dottin, and Saachi Dhadwal each picked up two wickets, keeping the pressure on throughout the innings.
In reply, the Sixers struggled to build momentum as the Thunderbirds’ bowlers dominated from the start. Regular wickets meant the Sixers could never really settle, and they eventually finished at 51/6 in 10 overs, falling short by 24 runs.
Amarpal Kaur top-scored for the Sixers with 16 off 18 balls, while Indomatie Goordial led the charge with the ball for the Thunderbirds, taking 1 wicket for just 7 runs.
Vancouver Kings vs Mississauga Masters
The Mississauga Masters registered a convincing five-wicket win over the Vancouver Kings, successfully chasing down a target of 122 runs with six balls to spare.
Batting first, the Kings put up 121/4 in 10 overs. They lost an early wicket when Nauman Anwar was dismissed after a quick start, scoring 22 off just 8 balls. However, opener Max Chu (33 off 17) and Moeen Ali (34 off 20) built a solid 47-run partnership for the second wicket, keeping the scoreboard ticking.
Just as the Kings looked set for a big finish, the Masters’ bowlers fought back strongly, taking key wickets in the middle overs and restricting them to a modest total.
Dominic Drakes was the standout performer with the ball for the Masters, finishing with tidy figures of 1/15 in 2 overs.
In response, the Masters made light work of the chase. Saif Zaib played an aggressive innings of 32 off 14 balls. Later, Hamza Tariq guided the chase calmly, scoring an unbeaten 17 off 6 balls, as the Masters reached the target in 9 overs to seal an impressive win.
White Rock Warriors vs Brampton Blitz
Riding on a brilliant unbeaten knock from Will Smeed, who smashed 71 off just 26 balls, the Brampton Blitz registered a commanding win, chasing down a target of 116 runs in a little over 8 overs. Smeed’s explosive innings was packed with 10 towering sixes, as he dominated the bowlers from the very beginning.
The Blitz got off to a flying start, with openers Martin Guptill and Smeed putting up a solid 98-run partnership for the first wicket. Guptill played his part with a quick 35 off 18 balls before being dismissed, while James Vince fell for zero soon after. However, Smeed held firm and ensured there were no further hiccups, guiding his team comfortably to victory.
Earlier, the White Rock Warriors struggled to build momentum after losing early wickets. Skipper Chris Lynn tried to steady the innings with a quick 25 off 10 balls before being run out. Later, Jordan Thompson played a fighting knock of 57 not out off 20 balls, helping the Warriors reach 115/7 in 10 overs.
However, the total proved too small for the in-form Blitz, who wrapped up the chase in style thanks to Smeed’s fireworks.
Toronto Sixers vs Montreal Royal Tigers
The Montreal Royal Tigers secured 5-wicket win over the Toronto Sixers.
Chasing a modest target of 104 runs, the Tigers had a shaky start as Daniel Sams delivered a fiery spell, picking up early wickets and reducing the side to 10/4. However, Dilpreet Bajwa rose to the occasion and played a match-winning knock under pressure. The young batter smashed an unbeaten 68 off just 22 balls, hitting nine huge sixes, and single-handedly guided his team to victory with plenty of balls to spare.
For the Sixers, Daniel Sams was the standout performer with the ball, finishing with impressive figures of 3/19 in 2 overs, including a maiden over. Dan Christian also contributed with 2/15 in his 2 overs, keeping the pressure on the Tigers in the early stages.
Earlier, batting first, the Toronto Sixers started well as Jason Roy (41 off 26) and Alex Hales (21 off 19) built a steady partnership at the top. However, the team struggled to maintain momentum in the middle overs and could not accelerate as expected. Suresh Raina chipped in with a quick 19 off 8 balls before being run out, and the Sixers eventually posted 103/4 in 10 overs, a total that proved insufficient against Bajwa’s explosive innings.
Day 4 of the Canada Super 60 promises another round of thrilling action at BC Place, Vancouver. The day will begin with the Toronto Sixers Women facing the Vancouver Thunderbirds in the opening match. In the men’s fixtures, Mississauga Masters will take on the Toronto Sixers, followed by a clash between the Montreal Royal Tigers and the White Rock Warriors. The final match of the day will see the Vancouver Kings go up against the Brampton Blitz.
