Quick: This Hisense TV just went from ‘good value’ to a ‘must buy’

One of the best things when covering Black Friday is that you can usually bank on a few things, and an even-greater-value Hisense TV is usually one of them – and here it is.

This TV has been getting rave reviews when it cost $1000 (for the 55-inch version), but now it’s down to just $697, it’s a bit of a no-brainer.

Hisense has been doing a good job of putting together high-value TVs,and that was the reason I bought one in the past – but now the flagship models are starting to pack a punch in their own right, even without the low price.

What sets the one apart further is that it’s got a genuinely powerful panel – in fact, many buyers have talked about how it can actually get a bit too bright.

This is achieved through the ULED tech – a rival to OLED, but uses thousands of small LEDS (a technology called MiniLED) to light only the relevant parts of the screen to give great contrast, powerful color and an overall strong picture to watch.

Is a bigger TV a better TV deal?

The question really only is which you’d go for in terms of size – I’ve got a 65-inch screen, and I love the slightly oversized viewing for cinema nights. However, you are paying $300 more for the jump from 55-inch, so make sure you’ve got the room (and the budget) before pulling the trigger on this one.

You can go with the inbuilt 4.1.2 surround sound, with Dolby Atmos support and a built-in subwoofer – or you can pair it with a soundbar. The stand is big enough to have one sit in front (and buyers have confirmed it’s good enough for things like the Sonos Beam).

While you might be like me and can’t imagine ever being swayed from OLED screens, this does pique my interest somewhat, especially at the new lower price.
