LG’s upcoming premium OLED TV could beat Mini-LED peak brightness

The Korean television and display manufacturer LG Electronics is working on its next-generation OLED TV as part of the G-series, along with a new wallpaper TV.

According to a Videocardz report, the OLED TV in question is the LG G6 Evo AI, a new RGB Tandem WOLED. The G6 will feature a new “Hyper Radiant OLED” panel with “Brightness Booster Ultra,” which provides up to 3.9x the brightness of a regular OLED TV.

More brightness and less glare across a variety of screen sizes

Now, the report also mentions “B6” as a reference point. Given that LG’s B-series OLED TVs (non-MLA, non-Evo) typically have a peak brightness of around 800 to 850 nits, a 3.9x increase over that would put the peak brightness of the upcoming LG G6 Evo AI between 3,120 and 3,315 nits.

In addition to the increase in peak brightness, the G6 will also feature an improved anti-reflection layer, which could enhance viewing angles and reduce glare from bright ceiling lights, for an uninterrupted viewing experience.

The same report claims that LG’s G6 OLED TV will be available across a variety of screen sizes, including 48, 55, 65, 77, 83, and 97 inches. Whether you want a modest 48-inch television for your bedroom, a massive 97-inch screen for your living room, or an in-house theater, the G6 lineup could offer something for everyone.

Under the hood, the premium OLED TV could be powered by the next-generation Alpha 11 AI processor, which should provide faster upscaling, more accurate tone mapping, and improved real-time image optimization. The leak highlights that the processor will offer “5.6x” the neural processing capability of the outgoing version.

While these are the main highlights, the television could also feature a 165Hz refresh rate mode, support 4K output at up to 120Hz for video game streaming services, and feature four HDMI 2.1 ports. Even otherwise, you should get all the features expected at this price point, including, but not limited to, variable refresh rate, eARC via HDMI, and Dolby Atmos support.

Apart from the LG G6 Evo AI TV, the report also mentions another model numbered “W6,” which is expected to be a wallpaper television. With screen sizes of 77 and 83 inches, the televisions could be around 99mm thin, making them among the slimmest models in their category. It will ship with the Zero Connect box.

Although LG hasn’t confirmed anything, it could reveal more details about the televisions at the CES 2026.
