OnePlus’ next compact flagship could arrive in April with a physics-defying battery

While most smartphone brands have moved on from compact flagships, OnePlus seems keen on keeping the category alive. The company introduced the OnePlus 13T last year as a smaller alternative to its flagship OnePlus 13, packing top-tier specs into a more compact form factor. Now, a new leak suggests OnePlus is gearing up to launch its successor.

According to a recent post from reputed tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo (via Playfuldroid), OnePlus may announce the OnePlus 15T in April, around the same time the company unveiled the OnePlus 13T last year. Although the company has yet to make anything official, the leaker has already shared a few key details about the device.

Like its predecessor, the OnePlus 15T is tipped to pack a 6.3-inch display with a 1.5K resolution, but with support for a higher peak refresh rate of 165Hz. The device could also get an upgraded 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for faster, more accurate unlocks.

The OnePlus 15T may pack a massive 7,500mAh battery

The leak further adds that the OnePlus 15T will retain the same 50MP JN5 telephoto camera as last year’s model, though details about the main and selfie camera remain unclear. The battery is expected to see the biggest upgrade, jumping from 6,260mAh on the OnePlus 13T to over 7,000mAh, with OnePlus reportedly aiming to go as high as 7,500mAh.

The OnePlus 15T is expected to feature Qualcomm’s latest flagship Snapdragon chipset. However, it isn’t clear whether OnePlus will equip the device with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or opt for the non-Elite Gen 5 SoC.

There’s no word on international availability at this point, but it’s safe to assume that OnePlus may not offer the device in all markets. That’s because the company only launched its predecessor in China, and released a slightly downgraded version in India, dubbed the OnePlus 13s, with a smaller battery and weaker selfie camera.
