Xbox’s Avowed is coming to PS5, and you can pre-order it today

Avowed is officially coming to PlayStation 5, and the Avowed PS5 release date is set for February 17, 2026. If you’ve been waiting to jump in on Sony’s console, pre-orders are already live on the PlayStation Store.

The Standard Edition costs $49.99, while the Premium Edition is $59.99. The publisher also says those prices will match across other storefronts where Avowed is sold, so you shouldn’t have to chase different listings just to find the baseline cost.

The initially Xbox exclusive game is a first-person fantasy RPG set in Eora. You play an envoy sent to investigate a spreading plague, one that threatens the land and hits in a more personal way than it first appears.

Avowed’s PS5 arrival also fits a bigger shift lately, where games that once stayed tied to one console are showing up on other platforms sooner than you’d expect. For gamers, that can mean fewer hardware roadblocks, bigger player pools for anything with online features, and more freedom to buy where your friends already play. The trade-off is it makes exclusivity feel less predictable, so if you buy hardware for a specific slate of games, it’s worth paying attention to how long those windows last.

What’s confirmed on PlayStation 5

The announcement keeps the essentials clear, Avowed is coming to PS5, you can reserve it now.

Standard is $49.99 and Premium is $59.99, so the difference is $10. What’s still missing is what Premium includes on PS5. The announcement confirms the editions and prices, but it doesn’t spell out what you get for paying more, which makes the upgrade hard to judge today.

The smart move right now

If you already know you’ll play on day one, pre-ordering now is an easy step, especially if you prefer having your library ready ahead of release. If you’re undecided, waiting makes more sense, since the biggest open question is tied to the Premium tier.

For most players, Standard is the safe default until there’s a clear Premium breakdown. Between now and February 17, the next useful update to watch for is a full list of what that higher tier includes, so you can decide if the extra $10 is doing anything for you.
