Würth Professional Solutions Launches First Smart Hub in the UAE with dnata, Advancing Intelligent Inventory Management for Critical Operations

Dubai, UAE 15th July – Würth Professional Solutions (WPS), part of the Würth Group, has launched its first Smart Hub in the UAE in partnership with dnata, one of the world’s leading air and travel services providers. The launch marks a significant milestone in WPS’s transformation from a traditional industrial supplier into a provider of integrated, digitally enabled inventory solutions designed to enhance operational performance, efficiency, and supply chain resilience.

The Smart Hub is a fully automated, digitally connected inventory management solution that provides controlled, 24/7 access to essential maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) products. Designed around the principle of ensuring availability with precision, the system combines secure RFID access, intelligent product recognition, automated checkout, real-time inventory visibility, consumption tracking, and automated replenishment to ensure the right product is available at the right time, in the right quantity.

This first installation with dnata serves as a flagship deployment of the Smart Hub concept and represents the beginning of a scalable model that Würth Professional Solutions will roll out across industries and customers in the region. Rather than a standalone store or fixed facility, the Smart Hub is a modular solution designed to integrate into customer operations, improve transparency, and efficiency in traditional inventory processes.

For organizations operating in high-pressure environments such as aviation, uninterrupted access to critical materials is essential. At dnata, the Smart Hub supports airport operations by ensuring immediate availability of essential consumables and maintenance supplies, reducing downtime risks, streamlining procurement workflows, and improving operational responsiveness.

By replacing manual stock handling and reactive replenishment with a data-driven and automated approach, the Smart Hub helps reduce excess inventory, minimize stockouts, and optimize overall material consumption. The result is improved cost efficiency, lower operational waste, and enhanced productivity across maintenance and operational teams.

An integral part of the solution is REFILLOmat 2.0, Würth’s sustainable refill system that reduces single-use aerosol cans and packaging waste while ensuring products are always available through automated replenishment and efficient inventory management. The Smart Hub is further complemented by dedicated fire-resistant storage cabinets for hazardous materials, including lithium battery safety cabinets, supporting the safe storage of critical materials, enhancing workplace safety, and helping customers meet regulatory compliance requirements

Angela Pernsteiner, Visionary Founder of Würth Professional Solutions, said: “This launch reflects our strategic direction at Würth Professional Solutions moving beyond supplying products to delivering intelligent systems that create measurable value for our customers. The Smart Hub introduced with dnata is the first of its kind for WPS in the region and demonstrates how we combine digital capabilities with deep supply chain expertise to simplify inventory management and improve operational performance.

“Our goal is to ensure that our customers have reliable access to the right materials while reducing complexity and improving efficiency. We are proud to partner with dnata as our first launch partner and look forward to expanding this concept to other customers and industries across the region.”

The Smart Hub also supports broader efficiency and sustainability objectives by reducing unnecessary stockholding, minimizing emergency logistics, and improving demand visibility. Enhanced tracking and automated replenishment allow organizations to better align inventory with actual consumption patterns, resulting in more controlled and efficient resource use.

Robert Powell, Vice President dnata Technical Services UAE and Global GSE Strategy, said:

“In aviation operations, reliability and speed are critical. The Smart Hub introduced in partnership with Würth Professional Solutions enhances our ability to access essential materials quickly while improving visibility and control over inventory.

“It simplifies processes, reduces manual effort, and supports the efficiency of our teams on the ground. We value WPS’s expertise and their commitment to delivering innovative solutions that strengthen operational performance.”
