Active Abu Dhabi Strengthens Its Position as a Gateway to Active Living Following a Successful Abu Dhabi Summer Sports Season
Conclusion of Abu Dhabi Summer Sports 2026 reflects growing community participation and interest in adopting more active lifestyles
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates –August 23 2026: Active Abu Dhabi, an initiative of Emirates Foundation, has concluded its participation in Abu Dhabi Summer Sports 2026 at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, following a successful season that saw broad participation from different segments of the community across a diverse range of activities and programmes, as part of its efforts to promote a culture of physical activity and make movement part of everyday life across the emirate.
Abu Dhabi Summer Sports represented one of the key milestones in Active Abu Dhabi’s annual calendar, providing members of the community with diverse opportunities to engage in physical activity and take part in experiences designed for different ages, interests and fitness levels.
Throughout the season, Active Abu Dhabi’s programmes attracted strong participation from across the community. Among them, the Summer Camp programme recorded 15,557 participants as of 16 August 2026 across its various locations, including 12,226 participants at Zayed Higher Organization, 2,407 at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, and 924 at ADNEC Centre Al Ain.
The strong participation reflects growing interest in active living across Abu Dhabi and demonstrates the success of Active Abu Dhabi’s approach to connecting members of the community with opportunities for movement and physical activity, in collaboration with government entities, private-sector partners and community organisations.
Mansour Al Dhaheri, Chairman of Active Abu Dhabi, said: “Abu Dhabi Summer Sports represents a strong example of what we aim to achieve through Active Abu Dhabi: bringing opportunities for movement and physical activity closer to all members of the community and making them part of everyday life.
