Magna AI and VAST Data Establish Collaboration to Advance Sovereign AI Factories in Saudi Arabia

01 September 2026, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: Magna AI, Inc., the global integrated-value-chain sovereign AI transformation leader established through a partnership between Trend Micro and Wistron Digital Technology Holding Company (WDH), powered by NVIDIA, and VAST Data, the AI Operating System company, today announced a strategic collaboration framework to jointly pursue sovereign AI infrastructure opportunities across Saudi Arabia. Formalized at LEAP 2026, in the presence of Dr. Moataz BinAli, CEO, Magna AI and Haider Aziz, General Manager, META at VAST Data, the collaboration will initially focus on the Kingdom.

Under the collaboration, Magna AI and VAST intend to integrate complementary capabilities across AI transformation, infrastructure architecture, deployment and operations. Magna AI brings expertise spanning AI strategy, engineering, integration, security and operational transformation, while VAST’s AI Operating System unifies storage, database and distributed compute on its Disaggregated and Shared-Everything (DASE) architecture. Specific roles and contributions will be determined on an opportunity-by-opportunity basis according to customer requirements.

As AI moves into production, the infrastructure challenge extends beyond adding more compute. Large-scale model training, inference and increasingly agentic workloads require data, compute and governance layers that can operate together securely and at scale. The collaboration is intended to help Saudi organizations develop AI environments capable of supporting these workloads while maintaining the performance, resilience and control required for production deployment.

“Saudi Arabia’s sovereign AI ambitions rest on infrastructure that can perform at national scale,” said Dr. Moataz BinAli, CEO of Magna AI. “By combining Magna AI’s full-value-chain model with the VAST AI OS, we are strengthening an important part of the foundation required to build and operate sovereign AI at scale. As training, inference and agentic workloads continue to grow, organizations need data infrastructure that can keep pace with how intelligence is stored, accessed, governed and put to work. This collaboration helps us address that requirement as part of a broader approach to AI enablement and transformation.”

Initial areas of collaboration will include government, regulated-industry and enterprise AI environments, with a focus on secure and governed infrastructure aligned with Saudi data residency, cybersecurity and regulatory requirements. Potential projects may span AI data centers and AI factory capabilities, data and model pipelines, secure AI platforms and enterprise AI applications, subject to separate agreements and customer requirements.

“Saudi Arabia is making significant investments in AI infrastructure, but compute capacity alone does not create production AI,” said Haider Aziz, General Manager, META at VAST Data. “The real opportunity is to ensure data, models and infrastructure can operate together securely and efficiently as workloads move from experimentation into production. Working with Magna AI gives us a framework to bring those capabilities together for government and enterprise organizations building the next generation of AI infrastructure in the Kingdom.”
