A Modern Lebanese Deli isarriving on Sheikh Zayed Road

Dubai, UAE – 2 September 2026 – Launching on 12 September 2026, Bayroot Deli is a new Lebanese hybrid restaurant on Sheikh Zayed Road, bringing together charcoal-grilled meats, flame-cooked dishes, fresh mezze, sandwiches, bowls, salads, shawarma and Lebanese deli favourites in a format designed for every day – or every night – in Dubai.

Rooted in traditional Lebanese cooking but created for a faster, more flexible way of eating, with its 56 seats across two floors, Bayroot Deli combines the generosity and familiarity of the Lebanese table with the ease of a modern deli. Guests can dine in, grab something on the move, take lunch back to the office or order directly to their door, with quality, freshness and homemade preparation at the centre of the concept.

At the heart of Bayroot Deli is a simple belief: familiar Lebanese food does not need reinventing, it simply needs to be done well. Family-rooted recipes, carefully sourced ingredients and generous cooking define the menu, taking the flavours and dishes Fadi grew up with and presenting them in a fresher, cleaner and more contemporary way, without losing the identity that makes them distinctly Lebanese. A deli in format, Lebanese in instinct, Bayroot Deli is built around food that feels instantly familiar but considered enough to become part of people’s everyday routine.

The Food

The menu at Bayroot Deli is built around the breadth of Lebanese cooking, with fire, charcoal and fresh preparation playing a central role. Meats are cooked over the flame and charcoal, alongside freshly prepared mezze, salads, sandwiches, bowls and shawarma carved from the spit, creating a menu that can move easily between a quick lunch, a substantial dinner or something to take away.

The kitchen places particular emphasis on provenance, homemade preparation and consistency, drawing on recipes and flavours shaped by founder Fadi Almahaini’s upbringing in Lebanon. Key ingredients including olive oil, thyme and sumac are sourced especially from the family’s farms in Lebanon, creating a direct connection between the food served in Dubai and the flavours Fadi grew up around.

Rather than modernising Lebanese food for the sake of it, the intention is to refine what is already familiar: better ingredients, careful preparation, strong technique and the bold, generous flavours that define Lebanese cooking.

That approach can be seen in dishes such as the Mlukhiyeh Bil Zeit, a recipe from Fadi’s mother combining sautéed mlukhiyeh with lemon and garlic, topped with caramelised onions.

The menu also includes a selection of Flame Bowls, bringing together Bayroot’s fire-cooked meats, grains, vegetables, pickles and house-made sauces in a more substantial format. Shawarma also features across the menu, alongside charcoal-grilled meats and other Lebanese favourites, as part of the wider deli offering rather than defining it.

For something sweet, the Moufata’a Beirutiya is an Old Beirut classic made with toasted flour, butter, aromatic spices and nuts, finished with honey and roasted seeds.

The result is a menu designed to give guests different reasons to return: for charcoal-grilled meats one day, mezze and salads the next, a quick sandwich at lunch or a bowl for dinner. Bayroot is less about one signature dish and more about bringing the breadth, generosity and character of Lebanese food into a contemporary deli format.

The Story

Bayroot Deli is, at its heart, a partnership between Fadi Almahaini and his mother, bringing together his hospitality experience with the recipes, ingredients and traditions that have shaped their family.

For founder and culinary founder Fadi Almahaini, Bayroot Deli marks a return to where his hospitality journey began. He first worked in his family’s manakish bakery in Beirut at the age of 12, before studying Hospitality and Hotel Management and building experience across restaurants and hotels in Lebanon. Now based in Dubai, Fadi has remained closely connected to food, including through his ‘Daddy’s Burger’ concept in Jumeirah.

Bayroot brings that experience back to his Lebanese roots. His mother is an active partner in the concept, contributing recipes and helping preserve the flavours and traditions Fadi grew up with, while ingredients sourced from the family’s farms in Lebanon further connect the restaurant to home.

Her approach to Lebanese hospitality is equally central to what Bayroot represents. “In Beirut nobody eats alone and nobody asks what time it is. We cook the same way here, for whoever walks in at three in the morning,” says Fadi’s mother.
