The award-winning sustainable energy project is expected to generate approximately 3.52 million kWh of clean energy annually.

DUBAI, UAE – November 06, 2026: Hotpack, a UAE-headquartered global leader in sustainable packaging solutions, has been named winner of the Renewable Energy Initiative Award at the recently concluded Gulfood Manufacturing Industry Excellence Awards 2026 in Dubai.

The award recognises Hotpack’s 2.2-megawatt (MW) rooftop solar energy project at its manufacturing facility in National Industries Park (NIP), Dubai, one of the largest solar installations in the industrial zone. The win marks Hotpack’s first recognition at the Gulfood Manufacturing Industry Excellence Awards, a major milestone for the company.

Completed in April 2025, in collaboration with Clenergize Consultants and Al Baraka Energy, the solar installation is projected to generate approximately 3.52 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean energy annually.

Mr. Abdul Jebbar PB, Managing Director and Group CEO of Hotpack Global, said, “This recognition is a proud moment for everyone at Hotpack. The Gulfood Manufacturing Industry Excellence Award validates what we have long believed, that sustainability and operational excellence are not competing priorities but complementary ones.”

“Our 2.2 MW solar project is not an independent initiative; it is part of a comprehensive strategy to build a packaging company that creates value for its customers and for the planet. We will continue to invest in renewable energy and clean technology as we work toward our goal of becoming a carbon-neutral business,” he added.

Mr. Zainudeen PB, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director at Hotpack Global, said, “Receiving this award at Gulfood Manufacturing, one of the industry’s most respected platforms, affirms the direction we have set for the business. The solar installation has already delivered measurable improvements in our energy independence and cost efficiency, and it reflects our commitment to integrating sustainability into every layer of how we operate.”

Mr. Anwar PB, Chief Technical Officer and Executive Director at Hotpack, said, “The project is expected to reduce CO₂ (Carbon Dioxide) emissions by approximately 2,992 metric tons each year, the equivalent of planting over 142,476 trees annually, and forms a central pillar of Hotpack’s broader strategy to achieve carbon neutrality. The initiative supports both Hotpack’s long-term sustainability roadmap and the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 goals.”

The award adds to a growing body of sustainability milestones for Hotpack. The company has also incorporated post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials into its production, introduced H-rPET technology that blends recycled PET with advanced polymers, and launched the Eco Loop recycling initiative in collaboration with RECAPP by Veolia.

Founded in Dubai in 1995, Hotpack today operates across 25 locations worldwide, exports to more than 107 countries, and maintains a portfolio of over 4,000 products spanning paper-based, biodegradable, and recyclable packaging formats.
