Gold prices continued their upward trend at the opening of the markets in UAE on Thursday, jumping Dh4 per gram in the past 24 hours. The 24K variant of the yellow metal jumped Dh0.75 per gram to Dh289.5 at 9 am UAE time as against Dh288.75 at the close of the markets on Wednesday. The Indian rupee opened higher on Thursday after weak US retail sales and cooling US inflation made it more likely that the Federal Reserve will cut rates later this year. Developers in Dubai on Wednesday said that they have very stringent anti-money laundering and combating financing of terrorism (AMLCFT) measures in place for the investors buying property in the emirate to ensure that no illegal money flows into their projects.
