Global economic growth will reach just 2.8 per cent by 2030, a full percentage point below the historical average, unless major reforms are made to boost productivity and leverage technologies such as artificial intelligence, the IMF said on Wednesday. The International Monetary Fund released a chapter of its forthcoming World Economic Outlook (WEO) that showed further declines in the global growth rate, which has slowed steadily since the 2008-2009 global financial crisis. “Without ambitious steps to enhance productivity, global growth is set to fall far below its historical average,” the IMF said, warning that expectations of weak growth could discourage…
In the world of comedy, where laughter reigns supreme, few storytellers captivate audiences with as much candour and authenticity as Anubhav Singh Bassi. Behind his effortless humour lies a journey marked by personal transformation, resilience, and a relentless pursuit of his passion. Yet, even in the simplicity of rural life, his mind was a playground for witty observations and humorous musings. “I wasn’t very extroverted, but I often found myself making fun of things in…

This led me to more coaches and gyms and, unfortunately, most of them had the same advice. In the…

Paramount Pictures (PARA.O), has won the dismissal of a lawsuit claiming its 2022 Tom Cruise blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick borrowed too much from a 1983 magazine article that inspired the original Top Gun film. In a decision on Friday, U.S. District Judge Percy Anderson in Los Angeles said the sequel was not “substantially similar” to Ehud Yonay’s Top Guns article about the U.S. Navy’s Top Gun fighter pilot training school in San Diego. Yonay’s widow Shosh Yonay and son Yuval Yonay, heirs to his copyright, said they deserved some of the sequel’s profits, after Paramount built a billion-dollar franchise off…
Happiness. We study it; write reports on it; spend our lives chasing it – but is our obsession with happiness making us more and more unhappy? “First of all, there is a lot of confusion about what happiness actually is,” explained Dr Louise Lambert, positive psychologist and Director of Happiness Policy and Programming with happinessmatters.org. “People have this assumption that you must be happy all the time. That would make you manic, and that’s a mental health issue, so that’s not normal. We spend our lives looking for a chronic state of happiness that, unless something horrible is happening, yes,…
