The Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) Umm Ramool and Al Barsha centres will operate on “a partial closure basis” as work begins to transform them into smart, hybrid hubs. These two centres will continue to provide services throughout the development project as the authority ensures there will be no interruption, the RTA said. Once the transformation is complete, the Umm Ramool and Al Barsha Customer Happiness Centres will be able to offer dual services accessible to customers via smart devices without human intervention. Service advisors, however, will still be present to offer support. Stay up to date with the latest…
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that his government has decided to shut down the Qatar-based news channel Al Jazeera, with which his administration has had a long-running feud. Japan’s hopes of pulling off an unprecedented global Derby treble were cruelly denied when Forever Young was narrowly beaten to third place in a spectacular 150th Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs on Saturday. The Japanese-bred son of Real Steel, who won the Saudi Derby and UAE Derby (G2) earlier this year, saw his chances suffer a significant setback when he was bumped by second-placed Sierra Leone in the crucial final two furlongs of the historic race. On March 15, 2015, the most infamous hot mic moment ever to air on television shocked the world. Real estate scion Robert Durst, who had been implicated, but had thus far escaped justice in three murders committed from 1982 to 2003, inexplicably agreed to sit for a series of interviews with filmmaker Andrew Jarecki. The director had made a fictional feature film, All Good Things, that was loosely based on the disappearance of Durst’s first wife, Kathie, starring Barbie actor Ryan Gosling and Civil War‘s Kirsten Dunst. Confronted, finally, with near-irrefutable evidence collected by Jarecki’s team that seemed to implicate Durst…
Two major accidents were caught on the Abu Dhabi Police’s road cameras — and both were caused by drivers who beat the red light. In the 49-second clip that the police shared, one sedan is seen speeding through the intersection, even though the red signal was on. Since it was time for vehicles on the other side of the road to move and turn left, the sedan crashed into a pickup truck. The impact was so strong that the second driver lost control, causing the vehicle to smash into a road barrier. Stay up to date with the latest news.…
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hardened his rejection of Hamas demands for an end to the Gaza war in exchange for the freeing of hostages. He said on Sunday that an end to the war would keep Hamas in power and pose a threat to Israel. Netanyahu said Israel was willing to pause fighting in Gaza in order to secure the release of hostages still being held by Hamas, believed to number more than 130. “But while Israel has shown willingness, Hamas remains entrenched in its extreme positions, first among them the demand to remove all our forces from the…
