Convergence Partners has announced that its Convergence Partners Digital Infrastructure Fund (CPDIF) has entered into a definitive agreement with Alviva Holdings Limited to acquire 100% of Datacentrix Group. The acquisition is alongside the existing Datacentrix management team that has successfully led the company for over 20 years. Alviva is exiting Datacentrix pursuant to its delisting from the JSE in early 2023, to focus on its core operations in hardware distribution. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Ship traffic in Turkey’s Bosphorus Strait is set to resume for northbound vessels as of 1700 GMT on Sunday, after a suspension due to an anchor failure on one ship, the Tribeca shipping agency said. According to a report shared by the agency, the Liberia-flagged tanker Peria’s anchor self-released due to bad weather around the Yavuz Sultan Selim bridge area during its passage through the strait and tugs were dispatched for assistance. The ship will proceed to the Kucukcekmece anchorage area under escort tugs, the report also said.
Crypto-related crime dropped significantly last year, a report has revealed. In its latest annual analysis of crypto-related crime, blockchain data platform, Chainalysis, found that the value received by illicit cryptocurrency addresses through 2023, totalled $24.2 billion, a significant drop compared to the all-time high of $39.6 billion in 2022. Of this, $14.9 billion, representing the largest portion (61.5 per cent) of the illicit transaction volume, related to sanctioned entities.
