The UAE announced reduced work hours for private sector employees during the holy month of Ramadan. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) stated that the number of work hours would be reduced by two during the Islamic holy month. Companies have the option to implement flexible or remote work schedules within the limits of daily working hours specified during the holy month, and in accordance with the nature of their work. The Indian government has allowed the export of 50,000-tonne onions to Bangladesh and 14,400-tonne onions to UAE, at a time when the staple vegetable’s outward shipments have been kept under restrictions. For exports to the UAE, a ceiling of 3,600 tonnes is kept every quarter, the official notification from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) read.
