It’s not uncommon for directors to lose a step late in their careers. But George Miller seems to be a rare exception. Miller’s first feature-length film was actually the first Mad Max in 1979, and he revitalized his career in 2015 with the widely-acclaimed sequel, Mad Max: Fury Road. Now, Fury Road is finally getting its prequel spinoff, which will be called Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. And if the first trailer is any indication, Miller’s still got his signature touch at 78 years old. Charlize Theron originated the role of Imperator Furiosa in Fury Road as an ally to…
In the ever-evolving world of retail, the online shopping experience has often lacked the vital element of human empathy. This deficiency has been associated with high bounce rates, low conversion rates, and minimal customer loyalty. However, with the advent of the new AI era, the gap between people and digital brand interactions is finally closing, ushering in a transformative wave that redefines the retail landscape. The rise of Generative AI, capable of creating original content spanning audio, text, images, and video, marks a distinct technological revolution. Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag said he was responsible for his side throwing away yet another lead in the Champions League after they were pegged back to a 3-3 draw with Galatasaray on Wednesday. The three-time European champions blew a two-goal lead twice in Istanbul, with goalkeeper Andre Onana making two costly errors, to leave their hopes of reaching the last 16 hanging by a thread. United are bottom of Group A with four points from five matches but still just one point adrift of Copenhagen and Galatasaray. They must beat group winners Bayern Munich on Dec. 12 to…
The Apple MacBook Air M1 has been among our favorite MacBooks for some time now, and it’s even held a place on our list of the best laptops overall. The new MacBook Air M2 is a significant redesign, bringing with it a new chassis and Apple’s latest M2 processor. Sometimes, it’s easy to recommend the new model over the old one, especially when the new model brings significant improvements. The M2 MacBook Air qualifies, as it feels a lot more like a completely new model than a simple replacement of the old one. While Apple continues to sell the original…
Pope Francis joked on Thursday that he was still alive, after cancelling a trip to United Nations climate talks, COP28, in Dubai due to the flu, saying doctors were worried about the heat there. “As you can see, I am alive,” the 86-year-old pontiff told an audience at the Vatican, according to an official transcript. “The doctor didn’t let me go to Dubai because it’s very hot there and you go from the heat to air conditioning. And when you have bronchitis…” “I thank God it wasn’t pneumonia. It’s very acute infectious bronchitis,” the Argentine pope said in Spanish. Francis,…

This year marks the 180th anniversary of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, which is one of the most famous Christmas stories ever written. Since its first publication in 1843, readers have constantly revisited the tale of Ebenezer Scrooge, a joyless old man who loves only money. One year, on a magical Christmas Eve, Scrooge is visited by the ghost of his late business partner, Jacob Marley, as well as the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future (aka the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come). A Christmas Carol is a morality tale that forces Scrooge to come to terms with…
Affordability and the opportunity for exposure to both traditional and international cultures often make Indian-curriculum schools in Dubai the favoured option among numerous parents. Notably, at least four schools have enhanced their ratings during the 2023-24 inspections. In the previous academic year, this number was down by 10 per cent with 73 per cent of students attending the Indian curriculum…
Home to a lush, tropical climate and vast rainforests, Sri Lanka is amongst the 30 most vulnerable countries to climate change. Ali Sabry, the Foreign Minister of Sri Lanka, has expressed his frustration with political leaders who commit to climate change but fail to implement effective measures. Sabry has emphasised the need for tangible action to combat the effects of climate change and has called on his fellow politicians to prioritise this issue. “A lot of promises have been made that look great on paper, but so far, nothing tangible has been happening on the ground,” he states. “The tropical…
