A few years back, Asus had an idea — what if you could carry around an extremely portable device like the ROG Flow Z13 on the go, but give it a big boost of power with external graphics when you sat down at a desk? The solution was the XG Mobile, which was an all-in-one device that gave you an external GPU and full desktop connectivity over a single cable. The problem was that Asus used its own proprietary cable design and connection, limiting the flexibility of its external graphics. At CES 2025, Asus is finally addressing that problem. The…

The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 is already one of the best gaming laptops you can buy. I called it “damn near perfect” in my ROG Zephyrus G14 review. But Asus is giving its thin and light gaming laptops a big boost at CES 2025, adding just a bit of extra size so it can pack up to an RTX 5080 laptop graphics card. Clocking in at just 0.63 inches thin and 3.46 pounds light, Asus says you can pack in up to an RTX 5080 and AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 into its 14-inch laptop. With last year’s Zephyrus…

Asus has announced a number of new gaming laptops at CES 2025, but one of the standouts this year has a unique feature: a completely tool-less upgrade system that you can easily access yourself. The redesigned ROG Strix Scar 16 and 18 both use a simple, magnetic latching system that lets you open the bottom panel and access the internal components within seconds. In particular, you can reach the RAM and M.2 SSD and swap them out, without even requiring a screwdriver. You can pack up to 64GB of DDR5-5600 memory inside, as well as up to 4TB of PCIe…
Nvidia just revealed its range of RTX 50-series GPUs at CES 2025, and made some big performance claims. The company says that the flagship RTX 5090 is twice as fast as last gen’s RTX 4090, and it’s not alone. Across all of the benchmarks Nvidia shared, from the RTX 5090 down to the RTX 5070, Nvidia says the new GPUs are twice as fast as their last-gen counterparts. We normally don’t see that kind of generational uplift. Did Nvidia put some sort of magical GPU dust into its new graphics cards? If you look closely at the benchmarks, it becomes clear…
Roborock has long built a reputation for producing innovative, useful robovacs, including the Qrevo Curv and the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra. At CES 2025, Roborock introduced new entries to its already impressive lineup: the Roborock Saros Z70, Saros 10, and Saros 10R. Oh, and did we mention these robots have an extendable arm that can pick up trash, socks, and even lightweight shoes? The OmniGrip expands the functionality from that of a simple robot vacuum to an in-home helper that removes obstacles that would have previously resulted in a subpar cleaning job. Normally, you would need to pick up anything…

Google and Samsung phones will be receiving Qi2 wireless charging, the answer to Apple’s MagSafe wireless charging, this year. The Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) said in a press release ahead of CES 2025 on Monday that the “acceleration” of native Qi2 wireless charging support will be rolling out to more Android phones throughout the year, including the Samsung Galaxy and Google’s Pixel line of phones. Both flagship companies confirmed their intentions to program Qi2 into their respective devices. “We are excited to have such major Android manufacturers commit to delivering the Qi2 experience to their customers. This will accelerate the…
