Dr. Sahar Hashmi provides insights into the challenges impeding generative AI adoption and offers strategies to overcome these barriers in both the business and healthcare sectors.

Many of us with a background in business leadership are familiar with the “No thanks” and “We are busy” cartoon, which highlights the importance of enhancing efficiency and improving skills in the business and entrepreneurial worlds.

I have used this cartoon to highlight potential trends that could hinder generative AI solution implementations across various business sectors. As we progress toward an AI-centric era, it is vital for leaders from different fields, including business and healthcare, to contemplate the effective integration of generative AI solutions. They can accomplish this by following the three principles I outlined in my recent article published in the prestigious Entrepreneur Magazine.

Key Takeaways

> Business leaders are often hesitant to adopt generative AI for a few reasons:
They are resistant to change because of their ego, they lack expertise in the field of AI and/or they are skeptical because
most of the generative AI solutions are in the beta phase.

> However, you can responsibly implement AI in your business:
1) By thoroughly assessing the benefits and risks, accompanied by meticulous planning for the integration of generative AI solutions.
2) Conducting in-depth evaluations of AI solutions is essential, necessitating detailed due diligence prior to selection.
3) Furthermore, it’s important to dedicate time for ongoing AI workshops for your leadership teams. This ensures ongoing improvement and updates, facilitated by engaging with external AI advisors and experts.
