Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 13 February 2024 – With its dynamic fusion of tradition and innovation, Dubai emerged as an exciting destination to ring in the Year of The Dragon. Offering a unique alternative for those who couldn’t journey to Asia, as well as residents and visitors alike, the city embraced the Year of the Dragon from 2 to 11 February with lively festivities curated by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE).

The highlight of the celebrations was the spectacular drone show surrounding the Burj Al Arab. With over 1,500 drones creating a 300-metre-long Chinese dragon, it was a groundbreaking display that captivated audiences and showcased the city’s technological prowess, marking the first instance of drones manoeuvring around a building.

Dubai Festival City Mall offered a range of experiences, including the dynamic Dancing Dragon performance and the immersive IMAGINE show. The finale, which featured fireworks that lit up the sky, provided a vibrantend to the celebrations.

Dragon Mart celebrated the Chinese New Year with a lively array of performances, including the Big Dragon Dance, Lion Dance, Dragon Kung Fu Dance, Peking Opera Show, and Umbrella Dance. The festivities also included a Dragon Head Lantern Making Workshop.

La Perle extended special offers on tickets, allowing residents and visitors to enjoy the Year of the Dragon festivities in full. Families had the opportunity to engage in various activities, including face painting and meet-and-greets with iconic characters.

IMG Worlds of Adventure and Dubai Parks & Resorts also joined in the celebrations, hosting vibrant shows and parades, magic shows, street performances, and interactive experiences.

Shoppers were not left out, with popular brands offering great deals across multiple outlets, making it a memorable shopping experience for all.

Damas enhanced the Chinese New Year festivities with a unique offer, where shoppers could receive a gift with qualifying purchases. Additionally, residents and visitors enjoyed exclusive offers on select items across various boutiques. Meanwhile, Galeries Lafayette treated customers with attractive deals on a variety of skincare brands.

At Mall of the Emirates, Chinese visitors and residents still have the opportunity to participate in ongoing festivities until the end of the month. They can benefit from daily prizes and exclusive deals, including the chance to earn 10X SHARE points on purchases. Additionally, daily instant prizes are available, ranging from mall gift cards to exciting rewards such as AED100,000 in mall gift cards, airline tickets, gold coins from Damas, and electronics.

Dubai, with its blend of hospitality, diversity, and world-class entertainment, proved to be an exciting destination for celebrating Chinese New Year. As the celebrations wrapped up, Dubai solidified its status as a leading global hub for year-round family entertainment, shopping, and events.
