9th July 2025, Dubai: Hit 96.7 FM, Dubai’s most loved Malayalam radio station, marked a major milestone as it celebrated 21 years of broadcasting — a journey filled with music, memories, and meaningful community connection. As part of its month-long anniversary celebrations, the station has been rolling out a series of exciting games and listener engagement activities.

Since its launch in 2004, Hit 96.7 FM – part of the Arab Media Group – has served as the cultural heartbeat of Malayalis and South Indian expatriates. Known for its nonstop Malayalam hits, hourly news updates, and select Tamil songs, the station has become a trusted daily companion, keeping listeners informed, entertained, and connected 24/7.

Its continued success is driven by a dynamic team of presenters — Mithun Ramesh, Nyla Usha, Arfaz Iqbal, Jean Markose, Maya Kartha, Nimmy, and Dona Sebastian — all of whom are not just popular RJs but also well-known celebrities and influential public figures in the region. The station’s trusted news segments, known for their clarity and consistency, are delivered by renowned media personalities Shabu Kilithattil and RJ Fazlu, who keep the community updated.

“For 21 years, we’ve not just been playing music — we’ve been listening, influencing, and staying connected with our people. We’re proud to be the voice for the Malayalis and other communities, reflecting their stories, dreams, and culture every single day. This milestone isn’t just ours — it belongs to every listener who made us part of their daily life,” said Mithun Ramesh, RJ and Head of Programmes at Hit 96.7 FM.

The 21st anniversary celebrations featured a variety of exciting events and activities for more than a month, with the main attraction being the “Hit the Jackpot” on-air contest, where hundreds of lucky winners took home Gold Bars, annual grocery, product vouchers, and numerous other prizes.

The campaign was launched in early June at the Carnival by Trèsind, DIFC, and culminated in a grand finale at Marhaba Mall on 5th July, featuring a fun-filled Trolley Dash along with a variety of other attractions. The finale brought together fans, families, and loyal listeners for an evening filled with games, giveaways, and electrifying live appearances by the station’s beloved RJs.

O Gold Wallet, Nellara Food Products, and Al Madina Hypermarket were the main sponsors of the campaign, with support from Ad&M International Advertising & Events.
