Dulsco Group Holds Clean-Up Drive at the Love Lakes in collaboration with Dubai Municipality to Protect One of Dubai’s Most Beautiful Areas of Nature for UAE National Environment Day

Dubai, UAE: 3 February 2026: Marking support of the UAE’s National Environment Day (4 February), Dulsco Group in collaboration with Dubai Municipality has successfully delivered an annual clean-up drive, bringing together employees, clients, and partners to protect one of Dubai’s most cherished natural destinations.

The campaign was held as part of Dubai Municipality’s community responsibility initiative focused on environmental sustainability and city cleanliness, titled “An Hour with a Cleaning Engineer,” which is implemented under Dubai Municipality’s supervision.

The initiative focuses on preserving natural beauty across the UAE, with volunteers coming together to collect and responsibly dispose litter and waste. The drive reinforces Dulsco Group’s long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement across the country.

The 2026 clean-up took place at the Love Lakes in Al Qudra on the morning of 30 January, with 120 participants of all ages contributing to 232 volunteering hours from partner businesses including Ashok Leyland UAE LLC, Higher Colleges of Technology Sharjah, Raffles Dubai Hotel, Saint Vincent Group General Trading LLC, Sofitel Dubai The Obelisk, Savoy Hotel Apartments Dubai, and The Ritz-Carlton DIFC. The initiative also included participation of a group from the Museum of the Future LLC. Together, a collective total of 200kgs was collected with 120kgs of recyclable materials and 80kgs of general waste.

David Stockton, Group CEO of Dulsco Group said, “There has been a clear and encouraging shift in public awareness and action when it comes to protecting the UAE’s areas of natural beauty, whether that’s our deserts or our beaches. In the winter season, we continue to find waste which has been incorrectly disposed of, creating not only an eyesore but more critically posing a significant risk to wildlife and the environment. That is why moments such as the UAE’s National Environment Day, which has been running since 1998, are so important as it provides a moment for us to come together with our clients and partners to make a tangible, positive impact right on our doorstep.”

While Dubai Municipality maintains popular recreational areas to an incredible standard, seasonal camping and outdoor activities can result in waste being left behind. Typical waste collected during desert clean-ups include plastic bags and food wrappers, disposable cutleries, polystyrene foam boxes, oil plastic containers, rubber tubes and many more, all of which pose risks to wildlife and the wider environment if not properly removed and disposed of responsibly.

Dulsco Group’s year-on-year activation highlights growing community involvement rather than increased waste generation. In 2023, 133 volunteers collected 285kg of general waste and 340kg of recyclables with this rising to 170 volunteers in 2024, who removed 93kg of general waste and 372kg of recyclables. The 2026 initiative continues this momentum, with strong engagement from employees and clients alike.

In a shift from its desert clean-up activities, Dulsco Group expanded its environmental efforts in 2025 by supporting multiple clean-up initiatives in collaboration with its clients, including beach clean-ups across the UAE. Through these initiatives, a total of 3.23 metric tonnes of recyclable waste and 1.71 metric tonnes of general waste were collected and responsibly removed.

Dulsco Group remains committed to supporting national sustainability goals while inspiring communities to play an active role in preserving the UAE’s unique natural heritage.
