FAB Launches Jaywan Debit Card for Modern Payments

  • The new debit card combines secure everyday banking with the convenience of digital payments under the UAE’s national card scheme.

Abu Dhabi, UAE, 20July2026:First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), the UAE’s global bank and one of the world’s largest and safest financial institutions, is launching theJaywan Debit Card, issued under the UAE’s national card scheme, managed by Al Etihad Payments, and backed by the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE). The card is currently available for domestic use as part of the national roll-out of Jaywan.

The Jaywan Debit Card offers customers a secure, reliable,and efficient way to make everyday payments and access cash nationwide. Combining the trust of a nationally issued payment solution with the convenience of modern banking, the card enables transactions across local merchant outlets, supports domestic online payments on UAE-based platforms, and provides cash withdrawals at ATMs across the UAE.

The Jaywan Debit Card is fully integrated with FAB’s digital banking ecosystem, enabling customers to manage their finances through the FAB Mobile app. Customers can access a range of services, including transaction monitoring, account management and digital servicing tools, throughasimple and seamless user experience.

Built with advanced security features, including 3D Secure authentication and Chip and PIN technology, the Jaywan Debit Cardsupports secure online and in-person transactions. The solution reflects FAB’s continued focus on delivering secure and reliable banking experiences aligned with the UAE’s vision for a stronger national payments ecosystem and enhanced national data sovereignty.

The Jaywan Debit Card also supports tokenised wallet integration through digital wallets, enabling customers to make secure and convenient digital payments across supported devices and platforms.

The Jaywan Debit Card is available to customers holding eligible FAB accounts. Existing FAB customers can apply through the FAB Mobile app or at FAB branches. Customers who do not currently hold a FAB account are required to open an eligible account before applying for the Jaywan Debit Card. Elite and Private Banking clients may also apply through their relationship managers.

The launch reinforces FAB’s role in supporting the UAE’s national payments infrastructure, while delivering a reliable and convenient solution for everyday transactions.
