From Humble Beginnings to Beacon of Hope: The Heartwarming Story of Free Food Sewa

Dubai, July 4, 2024 – Amidst the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it’s easy to overlook the struggles faced by many in our communities. For those battling poverty, homelessness, or simply going through tough times, putting food on the table can be a daunting task. This is where Free Food Sewa by PADMAA FOUNDATION steps in.

Free Food Sewa is an initiative by PADMAA FOUNDATION, based in India, started by a group of like-minded school friends Mr.Dinesh Sahrawat and Mr Umesh Awatramani, and aims at combating hunger by providing free meals to those in need. Sewa, a Sanskrit term that translates to ‘selfless service,’ forms the core ethos of this initiative.

What sets this movement apart is not just the act of giving, but the manner in which it is done – with love, respect, and a deep sense of empathy. Mr. Awatramani is a firm believer of the fact that beyond the physical nourishment provided by meals, they also seek to nourish the soul. Every interaction with those they serve is imbued with warmth and dignity, fostering a sense of belonging and community. For many recipients, these meals represent more than just food; they symbolize compassion, solidarity, and the reassurance that they are not alone in their struggles.

What began as a local effort has now blossomed into a widespread movement in India, with Free Food Sewa chapters springing up in cities and towns across the country. “Our vision is a world where every person has the opportunity to live with dignity and achieve their full potential, just as our mother believed. We strive to create a society where compassion and generosity are the norm, and where no one is left behind. Through our work, we honour our mother’s legacy of service and aspire to build a better future for all.” – say the founders

As we navigate the complexities of the world around us, it’s heartening to see initiatives like Free Food Sewa as a beacon of hope and compassion. In a society often divided by differences, it serves as a reminder of our common humanity and the power we hold to uplift one another. So let us join hands, inspired by the spirit of sewa, and work towards building a more caring and inclusive world for all.
