Over 2,000 curated titles in eight languages supporting students and researchers
Marwa Al Aqroubi: We aim to build knowledge hubs within vibrant community to spark reading and lifelong learning
Sharjah, May 06, 202
As part of its strategic efforts to advance Sharjah’s status as a leading centre of knowledge and learning, House of Wisdom (HoW) has inaugurated the third phase of its Wisdom Vault initiative at the Nest Arada Library in Aljada, in partnership with ARADA Developments, introducing a carefully curated collection of over 2,000 works, including bestselling titles and specialised academic resources.
Located within the Nest student residential complex, the library serves one of Sharjah’s most vibrant academic communities, expanding the reach of HoW’s knowledge-sharing platforms and broadening access to knowledge, while fostering a culture of learning and research among students and scholars near the University City. HoW will continually update the available resources, host cultural events, book clubs and workshops.
The launch was marked by a ceremony attended by Marwa Al Aqroubi, Executive Director of the House of Wisdom, and Amit Arora, Chief Operating Officer and Director of Hospitality and Entertainment at Arada. The event underscored the importance of the initiative in advancing lifelong learning and equipping students and researchers with access to a broad spectrum of knowledge resources.
Accessible knowledge
Commenting on the launch, Marwa Al Aqroubi, noted that the selection of Nest Library reflects HoW’s recognition of the area’s vibrant academic environment as a model for integrated intellectual life. She said: “This step aligns with our mission to expand access to knowledge resources and provide direct support to students within their educational environment.” She added that the Nest community, with its diverse student body representing various disciplines and backgrounds, stands to benefit significantly from the initiative, which offers opportunities to cultivate their academic interests and enrich their research experiences.
Al Aqroubi stressed that HoW, which welcomes learners and knowledge seekers daily to its modern facilities, is extending its reach through the Wisdom Vault initiative by establishing smaller, decentralised models across Sharjah. These vaults act as permanent knowledge hubs in active community spaces.
For his part, Amit Arora, said: “The launch of the Wisdom Vault at NEST in Aljada is a major step forward in our mission to create inspiring, student-centric learning spaces, in partnership with the HoW. This initiative brings our vision of interconnected living to life, where creativity, knowledge and innovation come together to empower the next generation of leaders.”
Wide-ranging titles in eight languages
The new collection includes titles spanning personal development, history, literature, languages, accounting, engineering, women’s issues, and bestselling novels. It also features books in Braille to support readers with visual impairments. The titles are available in Arabic, English, French, Spanish, Tamil, Korean, Malayalam, and Turkish, reflecting the cultural diversity of Sharjah’s community.
As part of the launch, students of the Nest complex will benefit from an exclusive 20% discount on House of Wisdom’s Standard, Premium, and Digital memberships, enhancing their access to a wide array of resources.
The Nest Wisdom Vault is also equipped with a state-of-the-art digital platform that streamlines the process of borrowing, returning, and searching for books. In addition, users can return books either at HoW or any Wisdom Vault location across Sharjah.
This new Wisdom Vault builds on the success of earlier editions at Maraya Art Centre and Mleiha Archaeological Centre, as HoW continues to enrich Sharjah’s cultural landscape through sustainable initiatives that foster reading, lifelong learning, and community engagement.
