HP is one of the most active participants at CES 2026. So far, we have already covered the new keyboard PC, the OmniBook Ultra 14, and the EliteBook X G2 series of business laptops infused with AI, but the California-based PC and laptop manufacturer has also unveiled new “HyperX OMEN” gaming laptops.

Yes, HP has merged its gaming peripherals and accessories brand, HyperX, with its long-standing performance or gaming laptop brand, OMEN. “HyperX and OMEN are officially coming together under one master gaming brand: HyperX,” writes HP in its official press release.

HP’s gaming strategy gets a refresh with the new HyperX OMEN lineup

The release talks about three new HyperX products: the OMEN MAX 16 gaming laptop, the OMEN OLED 34 monitor, and the Clutch Tachi arcade controller. All the products are targeted toward gamers. Let’s start with what the company claims to be the “world’s most powerful gaming laptop with fully internal cooling.”

The HyperX OMEN MAX 16 is available with either the Intel Core Ultra 200HX series or AMD Ryzen AI processors. On the graphics front, the laptop offers up to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 GPU (for high-FPS gaming), one of the most capable mobile GPUs available.

Compared to the previous-generation HP OMEN gaming laptop, the HyperX OMEN MAX 16 offers a 20% increase in total platform power (now rated at 300W). This allows the system to sustain higher CPU and GPU clock speeds for extended durations without throttling.

To manage the added power, the laptop features the OMEN Tempest Cooling Pro system, with a third fan and fan-cleaning technology that improves overall cooling efficiency. Put together, the CPU, GPU, and cooling system deliver a desktop-class gaming experience in a portable form factor.

The HyperX OMEN MAX 16 is configurable with up to a 16-inch 2.5K OLED, 500-nit screen that supports a peak refresh rate of 240Hz. Other highlights include a high-polling-rate keyboard (up to four times faster than the previous generation) with full-size arrows, OMEN Light Studio, and OMEN AI features.

Next up on the list is the HyperX OMEN OLED 34 gaming monitor, which sports a 34-inch V-stripe QD-OLED curved panel (21:9) with a resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels. With a peak refresh rate of 360Hz, an extremely fast response time of 0.03 ms, and 500 nits peak brightness, the monitor covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color space.

Additional features of the monitor include a USB-C port supporting 100W power delivery, two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 port, and a KVM switch for managing the connected PCs. Its unique features include a built-in headphone hook and a three-year limited warranty, which help mitigate screen burn-in.

Finally, the company has also announced the HyperX Clutch Tachi, its first Xbox-licensed arcade-style controller with magnetic switches and customizable inputs. All devices, including the HyperX OMEN MAX 16, the gaming monitor, and the controller, will be available this spring.
