Dubai, United Arab Emirates

As part of its broader commitment to inclusive development and social responsibility, the Indian Business and Professional Council (IBPC Dubai) has launched a Financial Awareness Program aimed at empowering blue-collar workers with essential financial literacy.

In collaboration with Tristar Group, the inaugural session took place at Jebel Ali Labour Camp this past weekend, drawing over 100+ participants. The initiative offered practical, easy-to-understand financial guidance tailored to the everyday needs of workers, helping them make informed decisions around saving, budgeting, and managing their earnings.

The session was spearheaded by Dr. Nilay Ranjan Singh, BFSI Convenor at IBPC Dubai and CEO of SBI, with content specially curated by Dr. Manju Menon to ensure clarity and relevance. Welcoming the attendees, IBPC Dubai Secretary General Dr. Sahitya Chaturvedi highlighted the importance of financial empowerment in improving quality of life.

On-ground execution was led by Mr. Balaji Nagbhushan, while Mr. Amitava Banerjee added a personal touch by distributing gifts to the participants. The initiative was further supported by senior IBPC members Mr. Surendra Kandhari, Mr. Dinesh Kothari, Mr. Sunil Sinha, Mr. Eugene, and Mr. Venkat Pencilman, who extended their best wishes to the participants and commended the collaborative effort.

“Financial literacy is not a luxury; it is a necessity. By sharing our professional expertise with those who build our cities and support our economy, we fulfil a vital responsibility,” said Siddharth Balachandran, Chairman of IBPC Dubai. “We are proud to lead with purpose and invite our business community to replicate such impactful initiatives across the UAE.”

This initiative marks the beginning of a broader push by IBPC Dubai to mobilize its network in launching similar CSR-driven educational programs, reinforcing the council’s vision of inclusive growth.
