Dubai, UAE, 11 November 2024 – Mai Dubai, the leading homegrown and sustainable water brand, continues to inspire healthier lifestyles during the Dubai Fitness Challenge 2024. As the official Hydration Partner of the annual fitness event, Mai Dubai welcomes residents, visitors and sports enthusiasts to stay hydrated while achieving their fitness goals.

The exhilarating Dubai Ride, held on 10 November 2024, witnessed Mai Dubai hydrate 35,000 cyclists, while supporting the UAE’s sustainability vision with eco-conscious initiatives. Mai Dubai minimised plastic waste at Dubai Ride by utilising its 5-gallon reusable and refillable water bottles, and providing low voltage and Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC)-free water dispensers. The leading water brand also incorporated the use of 100% biodegradable cups for cyclists during Dubai Ride. The Dubai Ride marks a successful milestone in Mai Dubai’s journey as it plays an active role in supporting the UAE’s development of a sustainable future.

Mai Dubai progressively aims to reduce single-use plastic, aligning with the UAE’s Net Zero Strategy and UAE Vision 2030 agenda, underscoring the homegrown water brand’s objectives to ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’ while making water accessible for all.

Providing water for all, Mai Dubai also makes hydration exciting and accessible. Across multiple Dubai Fitness Challenge villages, including Zabeel Park, Kite Beach, and Al Warqa Park, Mai Dubai is hosting exciting wellness challenges, encouraging participants to engage in activities such as rowing and cycling that generate kinetic energy to fill water bottles digitally. Those who complete the challenge walk away with exclusive giveaways. This year, Mai Dubai also brings innovative technology to hydration with – The Mini Robot – the AI-powered robot that reminds event-goers to stay hydrated and shares fun facts about the benefits of drinking Mai Dubai water.

Abraham Kah, Chief Executive Officer at Mai Dubai says: “Mai Dubai is dedicated to driving impactful change in the communities in which we operate. Our partnership with the Dubai Fitness Challenge underscores our commitment to ‘Water for All, Sports for All,’ and we are proud to support the UAE achieve a healthier, greener future. At Mai Dubai, we aim to inspire our communities to embrace hydration sustainably, and we are excited to keep Dubai’s spirit strong, active, and eco-conscious.”

Following the success of the Dubai Ride, Mai Dubai invites UAE residents and visitors to embrace the challenge and participate in exciting fitness and wellness activities across the Emirate during the Dubai Fitness Challenge. Families, adrenaline seekers and sports enthusiasts can also participate in the highly anticipated Dubai Run – the world’s biggest free run on 24 November 2024. Those interested in participating in the run can register on the Dubai Run website.

Committed to building a sustainable tomorrow, Mai Dubai operates the UAE’s only 100% solar-powered water factory, the largest in the Middle East and the second-largest globally. The innovative 18.1 megawatts (MW) facility has significantly reduced CO2 emissions, saving over 15,500 metric tons of carbon dioxide, equivalent to taking over 3,000 cars off the busy Sheikh Zayed Road for an entire year or saving 1.2 million trees. Furthermore, Mai Dubai has also achieved net zero energy consumption for the past two consecutive years and has reduced 13% plastic consumption in packaging since 2014. This pioneering approach extends beyond production, with an electric fleet and AdBlue technology in diesel trucks, effectively lowering carbon emissions and enhancing air quality in Dubai communities.
