Malabar Gold & Diamonds Proudly Represents India’s Global Business Vision  at PM Modi’s ‘Kia Ora Modi’ event in Auckland, New Zealand

As India continues to strengthen its position as a global economic powerhouse and marks a historic chapter through the landmark India – New Zealand Free Trade Agreement, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, the world’s 4th largest jewellery retailer, was proud to represent the Indian business diaspora at the prestigious Kia Ora Modi event in Auckland, New Zealand. The occasion served as a celebration of the longstanding friendship between the two nations, their growing economic collaboration, and the enduring cultural and sporting bonds that have further deepened bilateral relations.

The occasion marked a proud moment for Malabar Gold & Diamonds when Mr Ajith Murali, Regional Head – Far East & Oceania, had the honour of meeting the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, alongside New Zealand Prime Minister Rt Hon Christopher Luxon. The interaction provided an opportunity to share the brand’s remarkable global growth story and ambitious expansion plans, reflecting Malabar Gold & Diamonds’ role as a global ambassador of Indian enterprise and excellence.

“The strengthening partnership between India and New Zealand marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in economic collaboration, creating greater opportunities for Indian businesses to expand their global footprint. As a proud Indian brand with a growing presence in New Zealand, Malabar Gold & Diamonds is honoured to have been an integral part of the Kia Ora Modi Community Event during the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi’s historic visit. Inspired by the vision of ‘Make in India, Market to the World’, we remain committed to deepening our presence in New Zealand while taking India’s rich jewellery heritage, craftsmanship and values of trust to customers across the globe’, said Mr. MP Ahammad, Chairman – Malabar Group.

The Kia Ora Modi Community Event in Auckland brought together thousands of people of Indian origin to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi. For Malabar Gold & Diamonds, the occasion symbolised the journey of an Indian-origin brand that has taken India’s craftsmanship, manufacturing excellence and cultural heritage to global markets. With over 445 showrooms across 14 countries, including New Zealand, the company proudly embodies the vision of ‘Make in India, Market to the World’.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ajith Murali, Regional Head – Far East & Oceania, Malabar Gold & Diamonds said, “It was a distinct honour to meet the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, in the presence of New Zealand Prime Minister Rt Hon Christopher Luxon along with dignitaries from both nations. The engagement reaffirmed Malabar Gold & Diamonds’ position as a global ambassador of Indian excellence and entrepreneurship and provided an opportunity to share Malabar Gold & Diamonds’ global growth journey and expansion plans across New Zealand, Australia and the wider Oceania region. As we look ahead, we are excited to expand into Wellington, Hamilton and Christchurch, while continuing to strengthen the economic and people-to-people ties between India and New Zealand.”

For Malabar Gold & Diamonds, the moment is a reflection of the larger philosophy of “Make in India, Market to the World”, one the brand has lived out for years by carrying India’s design heritage and manufacturing excellence to customers across 14 countries. Today, as India and New Zealand step into a new phase of economic partnership, Malabar sees an opportunity to deepen its own roots in the New Zealand market, continuing to bring India’s timeless craftsmanship to a new generation of customers on the other side of the world.
