Umm Al Qaiwain- 11 November 2025:

The National Bank of Umm Al Qaiwain (NBQ) has been awarded the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council’s (Nafis) award in its third edition (2024–2025) under the Small Establishment category in recognition of NBQ’s efforts in raising Emiratization, empowering national talent, and supporting the UAE’s economic diversification and sustainable development

Through dedicated Emiratization programs, targeted training initiatives, and a culture that values innovation and inclusivity, NBQ continues to play a key role in developing national talent across the banking and financial services sector.

The award also underscores NBQ’s efforts in aligning with the UAE leadership’s directives to enhance the participation of Emiratis in the private sector and create pathways for long-term career development.

Commenting on the coveted award, Mr. Adnan Al Awadhi, CEO of NBQ, said: “We are honored to receive the Nafis Award, which reflects our sustained efforts to raise standards, support UAE strategic objectives, and shape a better future for the banking industry. At NBQ, we are investing in Emirati talent as we believe our people are the greatest strength and we will continue to build on this achievement by fostering a workplace that encourages learning, innovation, and leadership.”

“As an establishment, we remain committed towards our nation and our people, and we place Emiratization and human development at the top of our priorities. In recognition of our efforts, NBQ has won several awards for its Emiratization efforts and corporate social responsibility.”

The Nafis Award honors outstanding efforts by Emirati nationals and private sector organizations that contribute to the UAE’s Emiratization objectives, exemplifying excellence in developing Emirati talent and advancing the nation’s long-term economic diversification under UAE Vision 2031.

Nafis Program, launched under the Fifty Initiatives Package in 2021, has a pivotal role in supporting Emiratization efforts by providing effective tools and well-designed initiatives that help attract, train, and develop UAE Nationals to contribute to the nation’s progress and excellence, in line with the leadership’s aspirations to enhance Emirati participation in the private sector.
