Titled “The Goddess of the Sea,” the lineup features 13 looks, including swimsuits in various designs, skirts, pareos, tunics, jumpsuits, and other accessories for both beach and urban lifestyles. A hallmark of SAVALME’s signature style is functionality: these swimsuits are versatile enough to transition from the beach to city strolls, parties, and even office settings.
The brand’s founder, Albina Sallum – designer, technologist, tailor, and model all in one spent over a year developing prototypes of her signature ruffled swimsuits. Creating garments that seamlessly transition between beach and city wear required perfecting numerous technological details. These pieces look great as standalone items or as part of a set and perform equally well when wet or dry, ensuring constant comfort while highlighting the body’s natural form.
“I love traveling and visiting different places and beautiful beaches,” says Albina Sallum. “Before every trip, I searched for the perfect swimsuit, but unfortunately, I couldn’t find anything special. When I decided to create my own brand, I knew it had to focus on swimwear. As a technologist, I know everything about how to create a swimsuit. I work with complex materials like biflex (used for swimsuits) and natural silk, which are among the most challenging fabrics to sew. It took a year of perfecting the first items before launching them into production to achieve the quality we now deliver to our customers.”
SAVALME, established over three years ago, operates in Moscow (Russia) and sources premium fabrics from around the world, even amidst trade restrictions. The brand’s distinctive feature is its minimalist ruffles inspired by the scalloped edges of the giant clam shell (Tridacna). These elegant accents are present on all of the brand’s signature items, each named after mythical sea creatures—Nereids, sirens, mermaids, and other demi-goddesses of the sea, such as Amphitrite, Aglaope, and Ondine.
For the new summer collection, Albina Sallum focused particularly on colors, each representing a stage in a woman’s transformation. She unleashes her powerful and free essence, embodying the spirit of freedom and the ocean. At the end of the show, “The Goddess of the Sea” will appear with her partner, Poseidon.
Despite her independence, the Sea Goddess still needs to be loved.
“Revealing a woman’s true natural strength, beauty, power, and love – making the joy of life a process rather than a result – is the central goal of fashion in general and my work in particular,” says Albina Sallum. “I am inspired by strong, confident individuals. When I see charismatic women, I imagine which swimsuit would suit them best. I dream and visualize. Inspiration can come at any moment.”
