Astana, Kazakhstan – 13 March 2025 – Presight, a leading global big data analytics company represented by CEO, Thomas Pramotedham, met with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to further advance the country’s digital transformation and improve citizen wellbeing.

Discussions focused on expanding cooperation in the fields of high-performance computing (HPC), digital transformation, and the implementation of advanced technologies in Kazakhstan.

President Tokayev highlighted the strategic importance of developing digital infrastructure and emphasized the significance of establishing a supercomputer cluster in the country. Special attention was given to the localization of technology and the involvement of Kazakhstani companies in joint initiatives.

The meeting also addressed the recently announced $190 million smart city project in partnership with the City of Astana. The President expressed support for the integration of AI-driven solutions to enhance urban infrastructure management. In particular, the establishment of an AI command centre at Alem.AI NationalCentre for Artificial Intelligence was noted as a key initiative, aimed at improving the efficiency of municipal services through state-of-the-art artificial intelligence technologies.

Presight will leverage cutting-edge AI algorithms for the Astana smart city command and control centre, including predictive traffic analytics, automated incident detection, vehicle recognition, and anomaly detection. The integration of these AI solutions will significantly enhance the efficiency of municipal services, reduce response times to incidents, and optimize urban infrastructure operations.

“We commend Kazakhstan’s leadership in adopting smart nation technology and its commitment to advancing artificial intelligence, particularly through the creation of Alem.AI, and we fully support this initiative. Presight is ready to provide technology, expertise, and resources to position Kazakhstan as a leader in the digital economy,” Mr Pramotedham said.

The Astana smart city project closely follows other major announcements for Presight in Kazakhstan. In 2024, the Kazakhstan Ministry of Digital Development, in collaboration with Samruk-Kazyna, the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Kazakhstan, appointed Presight to develop the state-of-the-art AI supercomputer and data centre cluster to enable the country’s digital transformation initiatives.

Mr Pramotedham also met with Mr Zhenis Kassymbek, Mayor of Astana, where they discussed the launch of the smart city project, evaluated recent progress, and agreed on upcoming milestones.

In a separate meeting, Presight met with Mr Magzhan Madiev, Chief Executive Officer of Astana Hub, the largest international technology hub in Central Asia, where they discussed the details of locating the AI command centre at Astana Hub’s recently launched Alem.AI, a state-of-the-art international artificial intelligence centre.

Presight’s CEO has also met with Mr Renat Bekturov, Governor of the Astana International Financial Centre (“AIFC”), to discuss prospective investment opportunities and expressed joint interest in developing projects within the AIFC ecosystem.

At the mission’s conclusion, Mr Pramotedham met with H.E. Mohammed Al Ariki, the UAE Ambassador to Kazakhstan, where he updated the Ambassador on Presight’s projects and activities in Kazakhstan and the Central Asian region.

Through the responsible and ethical implementation of AI-driven solutions, citizens of Kazakhstan will experience improved public services, digitized infrastructure, enhanced healthcare access, and safer, more efficient urban environments as part of Presight’s projects in the country.

Mr Pramotedham reaffirmed that Kazakhstani companies will be responsible for 60 percent of the total project scope of the smart city project, ensuring that jobs, in-country value creation and investment remains in Kazakhstan. In the meeting with President Tokayev, Mr. Pramotedham praised Kazakhstan for its strength and capabilities in the IT sector. He further added that Presight is rapidly expanding its office and headcount in the country.
