RAM prices are wild, so this 32GB gaming PC for $979.99 is starting to look suspiciously good

With how pricey DDR5 has gotten, a prebuilt that includes 32GB of RAM out of the box already feels like a win. The fact that this one also hands you an Intel Core i7-14700F, RTX 5060 8GB, and a 1TB NVMe SSD for under a grand makes it a very easy gaming PC to recommend if you just want something fast, clean, and ready to go.

What you’re getting

Inside the iBUYPOWER Slate Gaming Desktop, you’re getting an Intel Core i7-14700F, which is more than capable of handling high-refresh 1080p and 1440p gaming while you run Discord, Chrome, and whatever else in the background. The RTX 5060 8GB slots in nicely for modern titles at those resolutions, especially if you pair it with DLSS and smart settings instead of trying to brute-force everything on ultra.

Then there’s the star of the show: 32GB of DDR5 RGB memory. That much RAM means smoother performance in newer games, better headroom for content creation or streaming, and less worry about background apps eating into your frame rates. A 1TB NVMe SSD rounds things out with quick boot times and enough room for a good chunk of your library before you need to think about extra storage. All of it comes prebuilt in an RGB-lit case, so you can plug in and play instead of wrestling with parts and cables.

Why it’s worth it

At its $1,299.99 comp value, this is a solid but not shockingly cheap prebuilt. Dropping the price to $979.99 changes the whole equation. By the time you price out the CPU, GPU, 32GB of DDR5, NVMe storage, case, PSU, Windows license, and your time, building a similar rig yourself is not obviously cheaper anymore. At the time of writing, 32GB of DDR5 and the RTX 5060 alone will net you close to $700.

And in 2025, 32GB is no longer overkill. Games are creeping up in RAM usage, and if you’re the kind of person who alt-tabs a lot, it’s nice not to feel punished for it. This machine lands in that sweet spot where you can install it, log in to Steam, and not think about upgrades for a while.

The bottom line

If you want a gaming PC that feels fast today and still has breathing room for tomorrow, this iBUYPOWER Slate Gaming Desktop at $979.99 is a very strong deal. You’re getting an i7, RTX 5060, 32GB of DDR5, and a 1TB NVMe SSD at a $320 discount, which is the kind of prebuilt pricing that finally makes sense in a world where RAM alone can wreck your budget.
