FUJAIRAH: Austria’s Lilli Tagger claimed the singles crown, while Great Britain’s Harriet Dart and Maia Lumsden lifted the doubles title at the inaugural Fujairah ITF Women’s W100, held at the Fujairah Tennis Club in the presence of Guest of Honour Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad bin Said Al Sharqi and Mr. Ghafour Behroozian, Chairman of Fujairah Tennis and Country Club.

Tagger, the third seed, delivered a composed performance in the final to defeat Britain’s Dart 6-4, 6-2, securing one of the biggest titles of her career and confirming her rise on the ITF circuit.

Despite the singles setback, Dart finished the week on a high in doubles. Partnering Maia Lumsden, the British pair dominated the final, overpowering top seeds Isabelle Haverlag and Elena Pridankina 6-1, 6-0 to claim the championship.

The week-long ITF World Tennis Tour event showcased high-level international competition and further enhanced Fujairah’s reputation as a growing hub for elite tennis. Players and officials praised the Fujairah Tennis Club for its excellent court conditions, smooth organisation and welcoming atmosphere.

The successful staging of the W100 underlined the emirate’s commitment to women’s tennis and its ability to host major international sporting events, with strong support from local leadership and sporting authorities.
