This tiny Android phone brings back two features we thought were gone for good

Smartphones have become so big these days that finding one you can comfortably use with one hand is almost a challenge. And if you miss the days when phones were smaller, easier to carry around, and came with batteries you could replace yourself, a new Android phone might catch your attention.

It’s called the Enough Phone, and it’s a compact Android smartphone that doesn’t try to squeeze in every feature imaginable. Instead, it focuses on the basics: a small display, decent hardware, and even a removable battery. The company has now launched a Kickstarter campaign, where early supporters can reserve one for $399.

A small phone that doesn’t forget the essentials

The biggest selling point of the Enough Phone is easily its size. It comes with a 5.3-inch LCD, considerably smaller than the displays we’re used to on modern Android phones. The resolution is limited to 1520 x 720, but on a screen this small, that might not be a dealbreaker for everyone.

Despite its compact size, the phone doesn’t seem to cut too many corners on hardware. It’s powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7500 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It also has a 50MP Sony IMX766 camera on the back, which sits flush with the body, and a 32MP camera on the front. You also get 5G, NFC, eSIM support, and a fingerprint scanner built into the power button. But what makes the Enough Phone interesting is its removable battery. The company is aiming for a 3,500mAh capacity, although the final specification is still being worked out.

A smartphone that knows when to be dumb

Beyond the hardware, the Enough Phone has another interesting feature. You can choose whether you want to run stock Android 17 or OdysseyOS, a simplified Android experience developed by SLEKE. If you want a regular smartphone with access to your everyday apps, you can stick with Android. But if you’re trying to spend less time staring at your screen, OdysseyOS offers a more basic, dumbphone-like experience. The company is also promising five years of software updates, with support targeted through 2032.

Phone

Of course, the phone isn’t quite ready to ship yet. The team has completed initial testing of its mainboard and built a physical dummy unit, but it still needs work on battery optimization, waterproofing, and durability testing. As for the price, early Kickstarter supporters can reserve the Enough Phone for $399, while subsequent tiers cost $449 and $499. Once it reaches retail, the company expects it to start at $599.

Phone

Remember, this is still a crowdfunding project, so there’s always a chance of delays or changes before the final product arrives. Still, it’s nice to see someone building a phone for people who don’t necessarily want the biggest screen or the fanciest hardware.
