Dubai, 08 November 2024: The DP World ILT20 Schools Cup 2024 reaches an exciting milestone as it enters the quarter final stage, with eight schools qualifying from their respective pools across the UAE

From the Abu Dhabi pools, Cambridge High School and Abu Dhabi Indian School – Al Muroor have earned their places. In Dubai, the advancing schools include Dubai College, Dubai International Academy – Emirates Hills, The Winchester School, Delhi Private School Dubai, and either GEMS Modern Academy or JSS Private School who will compete in their final pool match to secure qualification. Additionally, Delhi Private School – Sharjah completes the list of teams that have qualified. These schools will now compete for a coveted position in the semi-finals.

The Quarter Final fixtures of the DP World ILT20 Schools Cup 2024 are set to commence on Friday, November 8, with Dubai College facing Cambridge High School. The action continues on Monday, November 11, featuring three matches: The Winchester School will take on Abu Dhabi Indian School, Muroor; DIA, Emirates Hills will face Delhi Private School, Sharjah; and Delhi Private School Dubai will compete against GEMS Modern Academy or JSS Private.

The DP World ILT20 Schools Cup 2024, conducted for 34 under-19 school teams in the T20 format, is hosted at premier venues across the UAE. This initiative not only promotes the upcoming DP World ILT20 Season 3 but also strengthens ties between the teams, the league, and local communities. By engaging cricket families and young players, the event aims to build a dedicated fan base for the future, while offering young talent valuable exposure and experience as they aspire to play in the ILT20 in the years ahead.

Cambridge High School Abu Dhabi head into the quarter-finals on the back of three comprehensive victories including a 169-run triumph against Bhavans Abu Dhabi in the eliminator. Captain Prithvi Madhu has led the team’s efforts with the bat, accumulating 231 runs to emerge as the top scorer of the tournament so far. Meanwhile, Ishaan Sujay Rai has spearheaded the team’s endeavours with the ball with 10 wickets, making him the most successful bowler of the tournament.

Abu Dhabi Indian School – Muroor are the second team to qualify from Abu Dhabi, with three victories in just as many matches. Muaz Asad was amongst their star performers with 10 wickets at an enviable economy rate of 4.69. It was Muaz Asad’s five-wicket haul that secured a 21-run victory against Gems Cambridge International in the eliminator.

Dubai College secured two consecutive victories on their way to the Quarter-Finals. Right Arm Pacer Saif Ali Khan goes into the Quarter Final with a lethal spell of three wickets for just five runs against the Gems Winchester School in an 88-run victory.

DIA, Emirates Hills also qualify from Dubai with four points in two matches. It was Jaiaditya Malik’s sizzling century of 142 runs in 66 balls against Jumeirah College coupled with shrewd figures of 3 /22 that sealed their berth in the final eight.

Delhi Private School, Sharjah also advances, buoyed by a century from Lokesh Reddy in their recent win over ISCS Sharjah, as they join the contest for a place in the Semi-Finals.

The DP World ILT20 Schools Cup 2024 Final will take place on the evening of Saturday, 16 November following day-one of the two-day DP World ILT20 Junior Cricket Festival which will take place at the ICC Academy Ovals in Dubai.
