The partnership aims to integrate family growth concepts into urban spaces, aligning with the UAE National Family Growth Agenda 2031 and strengthening family-friendly community development.
Dubai, UAE:

Union Coop has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the UAE Ministry of Family to support the “Family First” program, an initiative focused on integrating family growth concepts into public and private urban spaces, in line with the UAE National Family Growth Agenda 2031.

The agreement was signed during the World Government Summit 2026, reinforcing collaboration between the public and private sectors to promote family stability, enhance quality of life, and support sustainable community development.

Under the MoU, both parties will work to advance family-friendly urban environments by embedding family-centric principles into relevant policies, initiatives, and spatial planning. The partnership also emphasizes knowledge sharing, institutional coordination, and public awareness on the role of urban design in strengthening family cohesion and well-being.

Commenting on the agreement, Mr. Mohamed Al Hashemi, CEO of Union Coop, said:
“The ‘Family First’ program represents a meaningful national commitment to reinforcing the role of the family in society. Through this partnership, Union Coop will continue to enhance its services and shopping environments across Dubai to better serve families, ensuring inclusive, safe, and accessible spaces that reflect the UAE’s social values.”

He added that the initiative reflects a long-term vision to position the UAE as a global benchmark in supporting family well-being and social sustainability.
