Want a new phone that last ages and doesn’t cost the earth? Say hello to this new Moto

The Moto G Power 2026 has arrived for those of you who want a long-lasting new smartphone, but don’t have the budget to spring for the premium-priced OnePlus 15.

Motorola’s latest handset is boasting some seriously tempting battery life, with the firm claiming it can last up to 49 hours (that’s four days folks) on a single charge of its 5,200mAh battery.

While that’s not the biggest battery we’ve seen in a phone this year, the aforementioned OnePlus 15 has a 7,300mAh power pack for example, it is a 200mAh increase on the battery found in the G Power 2025, G Power 2024 and G Power 5G (2023).

Whether the new G Power can really last for up to 49 hours remains to be seen – you’ll need to wait for our in-depth review – but the claim will be an attractive one for prospective buyers, especially when you consider the $300 price tag as well.

More than just a big battery

It’s not all battery though, as the Moto G Power has a solid spec-sheet relative to its cost. There’s a 6.8-inch FHD+ display, and it has a 120Hz refresh rate, which will be music to the ears of mobile gamers, as well as those who want buttery-smooth scrolling.

A MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset is in charge of keeping things going, and it’s assisted by 8GB of RAM – which can be expanded to 24GB with Moto’s RAM Boost feature. There’s 128GB of built-in storage, and there’s a microSD slot too – somewhat of a rarity in today’s mobile landscape – with support for cards up to 1TB in size.

The G Power 2026 also packs Dolby Atmos-enhanced stereo speakers and hi-res audio support, while round the back you’ll find a 50MP AI-powered main camera, alongside an 8MP ultra-wide snapper and an ambient light sensor.

Motorola claims it should be able to withstand the rough and tumble of everyday life too, with “360-degree protection” against drops, scratches, and the elements, along with IP68/69 dust and underwater resistance.

You’ll be able to buy the new Moto G Power from January 8, for $299.99 in two colors; Pantone Evening Blue and Pantone Pure Cashmere. It’ll be available universally unlocked at Best Buy, Amazon.com, and motorola.com, plus it’ll also be stocked at Verizon.

In the coming months, the G Power 2026 will also be at Cricket Wireless, Tracfone, Visible, Total Wireless, Straight Talk, Simple Mobile and AT&T.
