Ajman, UAE – 19th October 2026: The cover of Yatheemkutty, an autobiographical work by Hamza Kollath, was officially unveiled by Shamsu Zaman C.T., Managing Director of S&Z Group, ahead of the Sharjah International Book Fair.

The cover launch ceremony was attended by officials of S&Z Group Wasim Yousuf Bhat, Ganesh Krishnan, Ashraf Kuttipurath, Nancy Salman, Rosin John, Mohammed Rijas and Rashid Kaikollam.

Several prominent personalities from the literary and cultural community also joined the ceremony virtually, including noted writers E.K. Dineshan Orkkatteri, Rihan Rashid, Velliyodan, Raseena K.P., Gifu Melattur, Mukhtar Udarampoyil and Shiyas Ahmed.

Yatheemkutty tells the deeply moving true story of a child who lost his father before birth and a mother who became a widow at just 19. The book chronicles their extraordinary journey through poverty, hardship and social challenges, highlighting the strength of motherhood, resilience and the determination to overcome adversity.

Set against the rural landscape of Valluvanad in Kerala, the autobiography brings alive memories of life along the banks of the Thootha River. Through its authentic portrayal of village life and the richness of the local dialect, the book offers readers an intimate glimpse into the emotional struggles and triumphs of a mother and son.

Beyond a personal memoir, Yatheemkutty explores the broader realities faced by widows and orphaned children, shedding light on their struggles, sacrifices and perseverance. The narrative stands as a tribute to maternal love and the human spirit’s ability to rise above life’s most difficult circumstances.

The 340-page book, featuring multicolour printing, is published by Book Plus, based in Chemmad, Kerala. Preparations are underway to make the book available at the upcoming Sharjah International Book Fair.

Hamza Kollath, a native of Cherpulassery in Palakkad district, Kerala, currently serves as Senior Administrative Officer at Habitat Schools, Ajman
