A COMBINED MEETING WITH AMERICAN ACADEMEY OF OTOLARYNGOLOGY – HEAD AND NECK SURGERY

Dubai, UAE – January 16, 2024: Tomorrow marks the commencement of the highly anticipated Emirates ENT, Audiology, Swallowing, and Communication Disorders congress, hosted at the Intercontinental Festival City, Dubai, UAE. Running concurrently with the Thirteenth GCC conference on ENT, Audiology, and Communication Disorders, and in collaboration with the esteemed American Academy of Ear, Nose, Throat, and Neck Surgery, this conference is set to draw 1800 doctors and specialists alongside prominent figures from the health sector in the UAE and heads of Gulf medical associations.

H.E. Dr. Hussein Abdul Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention for Public Health, Congress President, and President of the International Federation of ENT societies, emphasized the conference’s significance. It stands as one of the region’s largest specialized gatherings, delving into the latest developments in ear, nose, and throat diseases, covering areas such as allergies, head and neck surgery, cochlea, audiology, swallowing, and communication disorders. With 460 lectures, 300 speakers, and 185 free papers across 72 sessions, the conference aims to facilitate knowledge exchange, support research, and showcase cutting-edge technologies. The accompanying exhibition features 36 local and international companies, presenting their latest products and devices.

Dr. Hussein Al-Rand elucidated that the conference aims to facilitate the exchange of experiences, showcase the latest global findings in ear, nose, throat, and audiology surgery, and support research through knowledge exchange and technological advancements. Furthermore, the conference boasts a wealth of local, regional, and international experiences, enriching scientific sessions through discussions and deliberations. These sessions enhance the practical efficiency of specialists and consultants, especially in ear and cochlear surgeries and laparoscopic surgery.

Preceding the conference, specialised hands-on workshops were conducted for participants which were supervised by team of international doctors. These workshops, tailored for resident doctors, include training on cadavers specially imported from the United States. Topics covered range from basic and advanced functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) to rhinoplasty, snoring and sleep Apnea, and a workshop on the diagnosis and management of dizziness and vertigo using the latest endoscopic and surgical navigation devices.

On the closing day, live operations will be streamed from Dubai Hospital, offering participants direct access to international experiences and skills, eliminating the need for overseas training.

The Emirates ENT, Audiology, Swallowing, and Communication Disorders Conference promises to be an enriching experience, aligning with the UAE’s commitment to providing the highest levels of healthcare.
