Leak says Galaxy Buds 4 Pro battery grows, your wait may pay off

Samsung’s next premium earbuds are moving from rumor territory into the paperwork phase. Phone Arena reports the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro have passed through the FCC in the United States, a certification stop that usually shows a device is close to retail.

The bigger hook is the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro battery spec. The same report points to a leaked 57mAh capacity per earbud, up from 48mAh in the previous Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, roughly an 18% jump in raw capacity.

Timing still isn’t official, but Phone Arena says the Galaxy Buds 4 series could land early next year, lining up neatly with the expected Galaxy S26 window. If you’re shopping now, that puts you in a classic spot: buy what’s available, or wait for the next-gen model that’s starting to look real.

The battery bump could be the upgrade

Battery life is still the daily pain point for true wireless earbuds, especially with active noise cancellation (ANC) turned on. A 57mAh cell doesn’t automatically translate to a specific number of extra hours, but it gives Samsung more room to improve real playback time, or to keep performance steady while running ANC.

It also hints at where Samsung is putting its “Pro” emphasis. If the company is spending its internal space budget on battery, it is likely betting that longevity will be a headline feature and not a footnote.

FCC approval is the closer-to-launch clue

The FCC listing is the strongest signal that this is nearing release. Products don’t typically show up there until hardware is mature enough for the compliance process, even if companies keep quiet about dates.

Leaks mentioned by Phone Arena also suggest physical changes: a thinner, flatter stem and a charging case that shifts to a horizontal internal layout. That could be a practical win and places it on top of best wireless earbuds lists if it makes the case easier to pocket and the buds easier to grab.

What you should do right now

If battery life is your top complaint, waiting makes sense, at least until Samsung confirms real-world runtime, not just capacity. If you can’t wait, the report doesn’t include pricing or an exact launch date, so there’s no guarantee a better value is imminent.

Watch for Samsung’s event timing and the first official battery life numbers, especially with ANC on, plus hands-on impressions of that new case layout.
